Creature Commandos Earns A Season 2, Another Win For James Gunn

As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the news about Creature Commandos being renewed for a second season has sent waves of excitement through the DC Universe community. Having been a fan since the early days of James Gunn’s DCUniverse projects, I can attest to his unique ability to blend humor, action, and heart in his stories.

Creature Commandos has been renewed for a second season.

James Gunn’s adult animation marked his inaugural venture within the DC Universe. Nevertheless, it shares some elements with his earlier DCEU (DC Extended Universe) productions, as he himself explained in the past.

The upcoming series continues immediately following the end of Season One for Peacemaker, leaving Waller in a bind operationally since she can no longer risk human lives for her undercover, ethically dubious assignments. In response, she assembles an unlikely group of individuals, reminiscent of the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, to execute her missions.

If you’re considering diving into the world of Creature Commandos, it could be beneficial to check out Season One of Peacemaker and Director Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie, either prior or subsequent to your exploration. In Creature Commandos, Rick Flagg Sr. finds himself commanding a team of villainous creatures on a perilous mission, this time with stakes as high as ever – world-threatening consequences await them.

In the upcoming season 2 of Peacemaker, Frank Grillo’s character, Flagg Sr., is expected to take on a significant role. He may be seen pursuing justice on behalf of the title character, as he believes Peacemaker was responsible for the death of Rick Flagg Jr., as seen in The Suicide Squad.
