Roger, who ultimately dismantled their violent empire during the Battle of Edd War. Notably, Shiki’s crew continued to operate for some time beyond this in non-canonical sources, with their most significant appearance being in the movie “One Piece Film: Strong World.”

Now, I’m standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Shanks as one of the new Four Emperors. Approximately two decades ago, he established the Buggy Pirates, though he opted to keep secret his past association with the Roger Pirates in order to maintain a low profile and evade detection by the World Government.

For over two decades, the notorious Buggy Pirates flourished by raiding tranquil villages in the East Blue Sea. It wasn’t until their captain gained significant prominence during the War of Marineford that they drew widespread attention. Post-timeskip, the Buggy Pirates set up Buggy’s Delivery, and eventually, they joined forces with the Cross Guild organization.

5 Roger Pirates

25 years ago, the Roger Pirates sailed across nearly all the oceans until they arrived at Laugh Tale, where they uncovered One Piece, a legendary treasure. This exceptional crew left an indelible mark on the world, and although they disbanded shortly after this monumental find, their impact continues to resonate till now.

4 Whitebeard Pirates

Following the demise of their former captain, Rocks D. Xebec, Edward Newgate went on to establish his own band of pirates, which came to be known as the Whitebeard Pirates. Their aim was to set themselves apart from the violent Rocks Pirates and create a new crew that embodied honor and camaraderie, functioning more like a close-knit family.

He managed to accomplish his goal and, over time, the Whitebeard Pirates became one of the most respected and feared crews in the world, thanks to its multiple divisions – and their respective commanders – that were scattered throughout the world, which led to Whitebeard himself becoming one of the Four Emperors. They were so large and powerful that they even declared war on the World Government after the capture of Portgas D. Ace. Lastly, this mighty crew didn’t disappear after the War of Marineford, even though their captain died in combat, but they were unfortunately disbanded later, after their crushing defeat by the hands of the Blackbeard Pirates in the Payback War.

3 Beasts Pirates

Kaido, once a part of the Rocks Pirates, formed his own pirate gang when the group disbanded, but unlike Whitebeard, he took a completely distinct path. His crew, known as the Beasts Pirates, were notorious for their ruthlessness and danger, and they played a significant role in Kaido’s ability to seize control of Wano with an iron grip. Additionally, he rose among the ranks to become one of the Four Emperors.

For a long time, Kaido and his Beasts Pirates held power over Wano, establishing factories that harmed the environment and left the poor citizens without enough food. However, this group is no longer active following Kaido’s defeat at the hands of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance, and many of its key members have been captured and imprisoned in Udon Prisoner Mine.

2 Big Mom Pirates

As a gamer, I find myself reflecting on characters like Kaido and Whitebeard, but in my pirate world, it’s Big Mom who stands out. Just as they did, Big Mom established her crew, the Big Mom Pirates, following the demise of Rocks D. Xebec. What set Big Mom apart from her comrades was her long-standing partnership with Streusen, a connection forged since we were both kids sailing the seas together. This early start gave her an edge that eventually led to the creation of her crew, which consisted largely of her Homies, spawned from her Devil Fruit powers, and numerous offspring.

For more than three decades, this team thrived and expanded so much that they eventually seized power in a country called Totto Land. Despite Big Mom’s defeat alongside Kaido during the Onigashima Raid, unlike the Beast Pirates, the Big Mom Pirates remain operational today. This is due to many of her offspring stepping up to lead, with Charlotte Katakuri appearing to have taken over from his mother as captain.

1 Kuja Pirates

Active For: More Than 42 Years

The Kuja Pirates are a pirate group originating from Amazon Lily’s Kuja Tribe and remain active to the present day. This longevity can be attributed to the fact that they are a generational crew, with members and even captains changing every few years. The exact founding date of this crew is unclear, but it has been active for over four decades since Shakuyaku served as their captain around forty-two years ago.

Boa Hancock, affectionately known as the “Pirate Empress,” leads the Kuja Pirates at present. This formidable band of female pirates has persisted through numerous challenges, such as her participation in the War of Marineford, the dissolution of the Warlords of the Sea system, and attacks on Amazon Lily by both the Blackbeard Pirates and the Seraphim. Given the Kuja Pirates’ tradition of recruitment spanning generations, it seems they will continue to sail for years to come.
