Crimson Desert Player Unlocks Platinum Trophy After 305 Hours in the Game

A player has achieved the Platinum trophy in the game Crimson Desert on PlayStation 5 after dedicating over 300 hours to it. Despite being released less than a month ago, Pearl Abyss’ expansive medieval game has already captivated players, and it’s clear that fully experiencing everything Crimson Desert offers requires a significant time commitment.

Before its release, Pearl Abyss promised a massive game, and Crimson Desert delivers. Players can expect to spend 55-60 hours finishing the main story, and over 200 hours if they want to complete everything the game offers. However, a dedicated few have already managed to unlock all of the game’s achievements, showing just how much content there is.

Crimson Desert Player Earns Platinum Trophy Less than 3 Weeks After Release

Just under three weeks after its release on April 6th, a player named TioZer0 on Reddit achieved the Platinum trophy in Crimson Desert. It took them an impressive 305 hours – over 12 full days of playtime – to unlock all 34 trophies. While a significant time commitment, TioZer0 believes someone utilizing available guides and information could complete the game in around 130 to 150 hours, though this is an estimate. Interestingly, TioZer0 also spent at least 60 hours fishing and bug-hunting after finishing the main game content.

So, I was reading the comments on that post, and TioZer0 pointed out something really helpful. They haven’t run into any challenges you can actually miss, but some achievements are way easier if you get them done early. Like, there’s one where you have to kill 10 jackals wearing a black bear helmet – that helmet gets harder to find later, so snag it when you can! And another one is about blasting five enemies with a cannon. Turns out, Fort Windridge is pretty much the only place with cannons, so if you clear it out before unlocking that achievement, you’re gonna have a tough time finding another chance. It’s kinda tricky though, because Fort Windridge has a big boss fight, and it’s tempting to just rush through and get it over with!

TioZer0’s impressive feat even got noticed by Pearl Abyss, the game’s developer. Will Powers, their Director of PR and Marketing, shared the news online, highlighting that it had only been 428 hours since Crimson Desert first launched – a launch that wasn’t entirely smooth. This means TioZer0 has only spent about 123 hours (five days) away from the game since release. While TioZer0 admits to playing for extremely long stretches, including several 56-hour sessions, they acknowledge this isn’t a healthy approach and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

As of today, only 16 players on PS5 have earned the Platinum trophy in Crimson Desert, according to PSNProfiles. Even though the game has been available for a short time, achieving this milestone is still remarkable. It’s too early to say if Crimson Desert will become one of the hardest PlayStation Platinum trophies to get, but with only 0.11% of players having done so, it appears to be quite challenging.
