As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Cryptmaster is a breath of fresh air in the gaming landscape. Having dabbled in countless titles, I’ve come to appreciate games that offer something truly unique, and Cryptmaster certainly fits that bill.
The distinctive game for PC, Cryptmaster, is set to debut on PlayStation and Xbox platforms starting October 3rd, as confirmed by developers Paul Hart and Lee Williams. Previously exclusive to PC, it was launched on May 9th, yet now console gamers can join in the excitement too.
The press release from Akupara Games announces: “Growing tired of his current realm, the Cryptmaster intends to broaden his influence and corrupt console gamers. Following a successful campaign against crocodile creatures, foolish frog-people, and musical minstrels, the Cryptmaster feels his toys are no longer sufficient. He now seeks new followers who will submit easily. Will you assist him in this dark quest or become a guardian, stumbling over your words while joining others again in the catacombs?

In this peculiar dungeon journey, utter any phrase to manipulate all aspects. Use words or speech to reveal hidden talents, embark on puzzling quests, and decipher challenging enigmas. Will you succeed in mastering the crypt and unveil the secret behind CRYPTMASTER’S heart?

- Say Anything You Want – Interact with the world and conquer quests by typing or speaking any word you can think of – each encounter has multiple solutions to discover!
- A Weird, Wild World – Travel through mysterious underground kingdoms and meet talking doors, flirtatious toads, sarcastic ghouls, and more.
- Use Your Words – Dungeon battles are fueled by words – decipher forgotten spells, then type their names in battle to unleash the might of your undead heroes.
- Endlessly Evolving Gameplay – You’ll constantly encounter new gameplay mechanics – from creature collecting, to card combat, to bard rap-battles & more.
If you have access to a PC, Steam Deck, or other handheld PC device, it’s well worth giving the demo of this a go. It’s a hugely unique adventure, and it’s great news it’s coming to consoles to reach a wider audience.
