As a long-time gamer with a soft spot for quirky and unconventional games, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming release of “Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered”! You see, I remember playing the original back in 2011 when it first came out. It was unlike anything I had ever played before – a third-person shooter with a dark sense of humor and an immersive world that drew inspiration from “Resident Evil 4.”
The confirmed release date for the enhanced version of “Shadows of the Damned,” also known as “Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered,” is October 31, 2022. This game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The original “Shadows of the Damned” was launched in 2011, but unfortunately, it did not achieve significant commercial success despite being developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by EA.
The reception for Shadows of the Damned was positive with critics, but the game failed to sell well commercially. Still, a devoted fanbase exists who consider it one of the top third-person shooter games during the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation. Unfortunately, this title was removed from digital storefronts a few years ago, making it challenging for new players to access and enjoy this Resident Evil 4-inspired game.
Fortunately, the game “Shadows of the Damned” will be remastered soon, and we have the release date confirmed. According to a recent trailer, the enhanced version named “Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered” is coming out on Halloween, which falls on October 31. For people who haven’t played it before, “Shadows of the Damned” is an exhilarating third-person shooter where the protagonist Garcia Hotspur journeys through hellish realms to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend. Armed with Johnson, his talking gun/motorcycle, Hotspur faces waves of monstrous enemies in this unforgettable adventure. The game gained recognition for its compelling narrative and humor, as well as its distinctively designed adversaries. This revamped version of “Shadows of the Damned” aims to reach a larger audience than its initial release did.
