Here’s hoping that this forthcoming game will preserve the strong points of its precursor and infuse it with fresh, daring concepts that have become synonymous with CDPR, thereby offering an unparalleled Cyberpunk adventure.

Speaking of Project Orion, there are a few challenges it must conquer during its creation. One of the major questions about its design is how it will fit into the storyline of Cyberpunk 2077: it could either be a direct continuation or explore a completely new narrative, happening before, after, or during the original game’s events. Given V’s journey has concluded regardless of the ending chosen by players, it seems more probable that a new narrative will be developed. However, if CDPR decides to make one of Cyberpunk 2077’s many endings canonical, the Temperance ending could work well, despite its unusual nature.

The ending carries a mix of emotions, yet it is also fulfilling, as it portrays both V and Johnny in a more sympathetic light despite their numerous ethically ambiguous actions, and provides a solid resolution.

Furthermore, this conclusion offers a wealth of possibilities for examination and debate. By permitting Johnny to completely inhabit V’s physical form, he is granted the chance to live out his remaining natural life. Killing Johnny, on the other hand, would be an unnecessarily selfish act given that V has merely a few months left to live anyway. Instead, by offering Johnny a second lease on life, much like how V was saved after being shot by Deshawn, there lies a unique opportunity for Johnny to undergo transformation and make a positive difference in the world. However, it’s important to note that Johnny no longer possesses his own body. This situation opens up thought-provoking discussions about the essence of consciousness and the bonds between individuals and their bodies – topics that can be further delved into through Project Orion.

Project Orion Could Analyze This New Johnny-V Hybrid

If Project Orion turns out to be a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, the Temperance ending seems to be the only viable choice for continuity. Beyond ensuring V’s body remains intact for over half a year, it offers rich opportunities for storytelling expansion. Pursuing another cure for V and Panam wouldn’t make for an engaging narrative, but exploring Johnny’s journey as he navigates his second chance at life could be intriguing.

In the “Project Orion”, it would make Johnny’s tale even more intriguing if V, the character in question, was depicted as a woman. This would introduce an additional dimension related to gender identity and expression into Johnny’s narrative.

It’s intriguing to consider whether Johnny-V will reappear as the main character or simply an NPC in the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, titled Project Orion. If so, the Temperance ending would provide the richest and most thought-provoking progression of the storyline.
