Cyberpunk 2077 Developer 'CD Projekt Red' Could Be Bringing New Games To Nintendo Consoles

Highlights

  • Nintendo Switch successor may get future CD Projekt Red titles as hinted by a job listing for a Senior Compliance QA Analyst.
  • CD Projekt Red has a variety of projects in the works, including The Witcher 4 and a new IP named Project Hadar.

As a long-time gamer with a deep affection for both CD Projekt Red and Nintendo, I can’t help but get excited by the recent job listing hinting at future collaborations between the two powerhouses in the gaming industry. Having grown up playing The Witcher series on PC and more recently experiencing the immersive world of Cyberpunk 2077, I’ve come to appreciate CD Projekt Red’s commitment to storytelling and attention to detail.

An open position announcement for a Senior Compliance QA Analyst role at CD Projekt Red, famously recognized for creating The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 games, implies that upcoming projects from this studio might be released on Nintendo consoles.

At present, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by CD Projekt Red is the only one of their games accessible on a Nintendo system. While it’s possible to experience Cyberpunk 2077 on a Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming, it doesn’t operate natively from the console due to its limited capabilities. Given that the Switch was released seven years ago, its hardware is not powerful enough to accommodate a complex game like Cyberpunk 2077.

Nintendo has previously announced that a new Switch model is under development and will be unveiled “during this fiscal year.” With this anticipated new Nintendo hardware in the works, could we potentially see future projects from CD Projekt Red released on the upcoming Switch successor? A recent job posting seems to hint at that possibility.

CD Projekt Red Listing Hints At Future Nintendo Releases

According to Game Rant’s discovery, CD Projekt Red posted a job advertisement for a Senior Compliance Quality Assurance Analyst. Part of this position’s duties involves creating a compliance QA guide and framework in cooperation with external QA partners, specifically designed to pass the certification requirements on various platforms. The platforms named are Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Apple.

Based on CD Projekt Red’s past collaboration with Nintendo on bringing The Witcher 3 to the Switch, it’s reasonable to assume that they could team up again for future projects. With numerous upcoming titles in development at CD Projekt Red, such as a Witcher remake, Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, The Witcher 4, another game within the Witcher universe, a new trilogy, and Project Hadar – a new IP – the possibilities for further partnerships are plentiful.

As a longtime fan of role-playing games (RPGs), I’ve played my fair share of titles that left me in awe of their immersive worlds and captivating stories. However, nothing could have prepared me for the rollercoaster ride that was Cyberpunk 2077’s development and eventual release.
