Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Adds A Secret Balatro Quest

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for the gritty, cyber-infused streets of Night City, I can’t help but feel a thrill coursing through my veins with the latest 2.2 update for Cyberpunk 2077. The promise of new secrets to uncover and the tantalizing hints of “cool stuff in the oven” from CD Projekt RED have me itching to dive back into the game.

It appears that the 2.2 update for Cyberpunk 2077, released yesterday, focuses on self-expression through expanded customization features. However, it seems there are hidden gameplay missions lurking within Night City as well.

CD Projekt RED, the developer, hinted at hidden mysteries yet to uncover, and lo and behold, someone has unearthed one reminiscent of ‘Balatro’: it turns out that the game itself is named ‘Balatro’!

The team recently teased that there’s some “cool stuff in the oven.” As great as the new customization options are, some Cyberpunk 2077 fans were disappointed with the lack of gameplay updates. Today’s reveal, however, indicates that maybe there’s more to this update than meets the eye.

In the style of Balatro, the game’s quest challenges players to track down all the Jokers hidden throughout Night City. When you successfully finish this task, a new Joker-themed shirt for V and a trophy will become accessible in your apartment. During their 2.2 update stream, developers expressed their anticipation for players to uncover the mysteries that now lie within Night City. Moreover, they subtly suggested that all the secrets from the 2.1 update remain undiscovered, leaving room for more surprises to be found.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Doubles The Amount of Character Creation Options

With the release of Update 2.2 for “Cyberpunk 2077”, players now have greater freedom to personalize their gaming experience. CD Projekt RED has incorporated the widely-acclaimed Crystalcoat feature across all vehicles, offering a broader range of customization options. The innovative Twintone function empowers players to scan cars found in Night City and add distinctive patterns and colors to their preferred rides. This feature can also be used for evading law enforcement.

Additional tasks have been incorporated into the Auto Fixer, enabling players to acquire popular vehicles that they couldn’t access before.

The character customization feature has significantly grown, now offering 112 additional choices, effectively doubling the earlier options. Additionally, the photo-taking feature within Night City has also been broadened for individuals aiming to showcase its stunning visuals. CD Projekt RED aimed to enable players to create captivating in-game photos without needing external software like Photoshop.

Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 and its secrets is available now for all platforms.
