The video game titled Cyberpunk 2077, at its current stage, is more impressive than it was when initially released. Although the potential for further expansion through Project Orion, which may continue the series with a sequel down the line, suggests numerous possibilities to enhance or refine the engrossing environment of Night City even more. For instance, apartments in the game have become significantly more significant due to recent updates in Cyberpunk 2077, and it appears that developer CD Projekt Red has merely touched upon this aspect.
In the world of Cyberpunk 2077, one cool new feature I appreciated later on was having the ability to invite my in-game love interests over to my apartment. It added a touch of character development and role-play fun to an already chatty and story-driven game. However, I feel the implementation could’ve been better, and it seems CD Projekt Red might need to reconsider how they approach this feature if it’s included again in the next installment of Cyberpunk 2077.
Why Apartments aren’t Ideal for Hangout Dates in Cyberpunk 2077
In the vast, open-ended world of Cyberpunk 2077, there’s little chance for players to find themselves short on eurodollars due to the abundance of Side Jobs, Gigs, and NCPD dispatch events. It’s fortunate that players have numerous opportunities to put their hard-earned eddies to good use as well.
In the game Cyberpunk 2077, vehicles and apartments are often considered unnecessary luxuries, primarily to satisfy players’ desire for role-play and customization. These items tend to be where most money is spent, after weapons and high-tier cyberware. However, having multiple apartments becomes more valuable when a player has a romantic partner in the game, adding variety. It should be noted that relationships in the game can quickly lose their initial charm.
In the captivating world of Cyberpunk 2077, love interests sometimes share private moments with V, like joining for a shower, but the repetitive nature of these interactions can diminish the immersion that the relationship is intended to provide. However, when players decide to make a call on the holo at the pivotal moment of no return, it adds depth and realism to the relationship.
It’s delightful to frequently encounter these characters, but unfortunately, the magic of immersion tends to fade away. Characters initially crafted as compelling companions transform into non-player characters (NPCs) when repetitive dialogues are spoken and identical interactions or animations are repeated. Interestingly, the longer players engage with their chosen romantic partners, the less captivating those relationships become beyond exchanging cute messages and giving gifts.
A possible way to enliven the dynamics of relationships within Project Orion could involve venturing beyond the usual apartment settings for dates, even if it means temporarily abandoning them. The vibrant Night City offers a plethora of romantic destinations like the Afterlife or cozy cafes such as Tom’s Diner during the daytime. By choosing to spend time with a partner outside instead of staying in, there could be an exciting twist as each location offers its own distinctive dialogue exchanges between characters, making their shared moments even more memorable and cherished.
Apartment Memorabilia is a Beautiful Touch Project Orion Should Lean into
In V’s H10 apartment within the megabuilding, various items related to quests can be used for decoration, ranging from iguana eggs and dreamcatchers to Scorpion statues and Chimera cores. These decorations might not only provide a romantic setting, but they also offer a unique and engaging experience as they narrate an environmental tale throughout the player’s journey, offering a sense of accomplishment and a comfortable resting place during their progress.
It would be wonderful if the concept seen in Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel continues to evolve, and surprisingly, Project Orion might not require a variety of apartments – from run-down to lavish – for decorations to matter significantly. It will certainly be intriguing to discover how CD Projekt Red plans to enhance the apartment aspect in Cyberpunk 2077, and whether players will even have the option to lease apartments within Project Orion at all.
