As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the gritty, neon-lit world of Night City, I can hardly contain my excitement for the prospect of Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, Project Orion. The possibility of venturing beyond Earth and exploring the intriguing locations in space that the universe has to offer is a dream come true for any cyberpunk enthusiast like myself.
In the realm of Cyberpunk 2077, there are numerous captivating areas outside Night City, and while details about its potential follow-up, Project Orion, remain scanty except for hinting at showcasing the complete power and possibilities of the Cyberpunk universe, it’s likely that this ambitious sequel will venture beyond Earth at some point. Indeed, although dystopian cities like Night City serve as the backbone of Cyberpunk 2077, the game’s setting also highlights locations in space, which might be delved into during specific missions down the line.
Spoilers ahead for
Cyberpunk 2077
and its Phantom Liberty DLC.
In the universe of Cyberpunk, teeming with unique locales such as lunar colonies inhabited by thousands and a multitude of corporate and high-end orbital stations, lies a realm that remains largely inaccessible to common folk. Places like Night City, one among many bustling metropolises in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, also boast their own spaceports for regular space travel. Players can indeed explore Night City’s spaceport on Morro Rock within the game, and this site assumes significant importance in the main story of Phantom Liberty if players decide to betray Reed.
How The Endings of Cyberpunk 2077 Could Influence The Beginning of Its Sequel
In the captivating world of Cyberpunk 2077, I found myself stepping beyond Earth’s boundaries in some intriguing epilogues. However, these scenes, which vary depending on your choices, are primarily focused on wrapping up my story rather than offering a complete new gameplay experience with Arasaka. Opting for the Devil ending and aligning with Arasaka led me to a breathtaking glimpse of the Arasaka Orbital Station. Here, I underwent an experimental procedure meant to expel the Relic from my body, although this treatment ultimately proved fruitless in delaying my fate. This ambiguous facility of Arasaka transcends its medical function and stands out as one of the most fascinating locations within the Cyberpunk universe.
The Arasaka Orbital Station functions not only as an advanced medical center for the privileged, but it’s also a covert Arasaka facility where Mikoshi servers are housed. Mikoshi is one of Arasaka Corporation’s key projects, an aspect of cyberspace that contains the digital personas of wealthy individuals seeking immortality and the memories of victims of their Soulkiller AI, like Johnny Silverhand. Given its importance in the potential storyline for Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, it wouldn’t be surprising if the game features a mission allowing players to explore the station with the objective of permanently disabling Mikoshi.
Arasaka Orbital Station Isn’t The Only Space Station in Cyberpunk 2077 That Could Make a Comeback in Its Sequel
As a dedicated fan, I’m eagerly anticipating Project Orion, and the buzzing rumors have me excited! Some speculate that V might reappear as the protagonist in this new project. They propose an intriguing possibility: the sequel could feature a mission allowing us to live the thrill of the Crystal Palace heist hinted at in The Sun ending of Cyberpunk 2077. This climactic scene portrays V achieving legend status in The Afterlife, undertaking an extraordinary job on behalf of the enigmatic Mr. Blue Eyes, a character who left a lasting impression in Cyberpunk 2077. If this speculation comes true, it would certainly add another layer of excitement to the unfolding story in the vast expanse of Project Orion. However, it’s important to note that, as of now, there is no definitive ending to Cyberpunk 2077 in the canon.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but ponder about the potential expansion of Project Orion within the captivating universe of Cyberpunk 2077. The outcome players choose significantly impacts the Arasaka Corporation’s destiny, making it challenging to predict where the story might head next. However, given the intriguing space possibilities hinted in the game, I’m optimistic that we might embark on some cosmic missions in the sequel.
