Cyberpunk 2077’s Toughest Cyberpsychos & Where to Find Them

In the gritty world of Night City, cyberpsychosis is prevalent. If the oppressive nature of life in this dystopia doesn’t push the citizens over the edge, then the excessive use of cyberware certainly will. These individuals, known as cyberpsychos, have reached their breaking point in Cyberpunk 2077 – so it’s up to your character, V, to venture into perilous regions to track them down and bring them under control.

In the vibrant world of Cyberpunk 2077, I, as a player, come across a few cyber-menaces, commonly known as cyberpsychos, that I can track down and confront. Although not every one of them presents a significant challenge, there are some who are genuine threats that shouldn’t be taken lightly. It’s essential to understand their potentially hostile nature before diving into the fight.

8. Cedric Muller

Fight a Shotgun-Wielding Cyberpsycho in On Deaf Ears

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: On Deaf Ears
  • Location: East of the Downtown Central Fast Travel Point in the City Center
  • Reward: €$7,700

In a parking lot, Cedric Muller is discovered standing over a stack of deceased individuals. It’s important to note that Cedric is the one who pulled the trigger. At first glance, Cedric might appear non-threatening. However, don’t be fooled; he can become quite formidable in combat. He’s tricky to neutralize during stealth operations, and his shotgun poses challenges when enemies get too close.

Cedric Muller might be a cyberpsycho, but his extensive combat background makes him potentially dangerous. This stems from his past or present affiliation with the Red Orcher Nomad group, and his exposure to Biotechnica’s unconventional and experimental Project Nightingale.

7. Russel Greene

Drones, Turrets, and a Cyberpsycho Lurk in the House on a Hill

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: House on a Hill
  • Location: Greene Homestead, south of the Rocky Ridge Fast Travel Point
  • Reward: €$5,400

Russell Greene, once a normal man, now lives in constant suspicion, transforming his home into a lethal labyrinth for the unwary. Armed with various defenses against intruders such as turrets, drones, and landmines, Greene believed he was fortifying his safety. However, these very devices turned against him, ultimately leading to the tragic deaths of his wife and son when they malfunctioned.

In a desperate bid to protect his possessions, Russell proves to be a formidable adversary. Engaging him in combat isn’t straightforward, as he employs various defenses to bolster his position in the fight. Not only does he have turrets that fire for him, but he can also maneuver skillfully using Kerenzikov, effectively dodging bullets. This battle, therefore, proves challenging without a stealthy approach.

6. Matt Liaw

A Marksman Holds Down a Highway in Demons of War

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Demons of War
  • Location: On the highway from the Charter Street Fast Travel Point in Watson
  • Reward: €$1,180

Generally, highways are stressful due to potential traffic congestion during construction, but for Matt Liaw, the primary worry isn’t that, it’s the possibility of getting hit by a random sniper. Matt Liaw has set up camp on an incomplete highway, where any approaching individual risks being targeted and eliminated. Players must choose between running and healing quickly or hiding behind cover and moving only during reloads to stay alive.

If you don’t manage to approach silently or with the right quickhacks, this Cyberpsycho will undoubtedly unleash a barrage of bullets at V using his exceptional marksmanship. Fortunately, as players get closer, a sniper becomes less effective against close-range combat.

5. Zion Wylde

A Sharpshooter Holds Down the Badlands in Second Chances

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Second Chances
  • Location: East of the Old Turbines Fast Travel Point in The Badlands
  • Reward: €$2,170

As a passionate explorer, I find myself delving into the enigmatic expanse of the Badlands. Here, I unexpectedly encounter several chilling discoveries – fresh bodies scattered about, with a trail of blood guiding me towards an abandoned wind turbine setup. However, before I could fully comprehend these gruesome findings, a glint from a sniper rifle catches my eye, followed by the deafening crack of its first shot. It’s only later that I realize, from the vantage point of a distant turbine tower, a Cyberpsycho has been watching me all along.

V has two options: They could drive an impressive vehicle across the expansive desert and meet up at a central location, or take on the challenge of engaging from a distance. It’s a difficult fight, but it can be won, especially if players find a way to reach the tower and launch an attack from there.

4. Zaria Hughes

A Creepy and Bloody Ritual from Maelstrom Ends in More Death

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Bloody Ritual
  • Location: Near the Docks, Watson, but only at night
  • Reward: €$1,180

In Night City, danger is ever-present, but it intensifies under the cover of darkness. Brave adventurers venturing into the derelict docks district of Watson’s northern region may stumble upon a Maelstrom ceremony, where grotesque scenes of violence and devastation are commonplace. Delving deeper into this macabre scene uncovers a newly-minted cyberpsycho, spawned from this ritual, who rises from the tub to haunt V with terrifying nightmares.

In a swift and relentless manner, Zaria Hughes employs Mantis Blades for attack, charging towards V with unyielding pace and ferocity. Simultaneously, she nimbly evades bullets hurled at her due to her extraordinary speed and cybernetic enhancements, ensuring that the ensuing encounter will be a close-quarters, intense melee battle leading to a potentially fatal conclusion.

3. Euralio Alma

An Open Battlefield Against a Mech in The Wasteland

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: The Wasteland
  • Location: South area of Wraith Camp Fast Travel Point in The Badlands
  • Reward: €$2,170

Players will follow a trail of bloodstains, footprints, and bodies as they venture into the sandy expanse of the Badlands, eventually reaching a secluded spot where a Cyberpsycho has acquired a Militech power suit. This armor-enhancing suit fortifies the Cyberpsycho, allowing him to withstand both physical attacks and laser fire, while simultaneously dishing out powerful blows and shots.

This Cyberpsycho can be subdued using EMP Grenades, Short Circuit quickhacks, or maintaining a stealthy approach, but if Euralio manages to apprehend V, then there’ll be nothing but pain ahead. The barrage of explosive bullets from this despot and his armored mech suit will create a challenging situation.

2. Chase Cloey

The Cyberpsycho in Power Armor is Certainly No Discount Doc

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Discount Doc
  • Location: Near the Rancho Coronado Fast Travel Point in Santo Domingo
  • Reward: €$2,290

At first glance, a construction site may appear as a secure environment, devoid of corporate corruption and Night City’s criminal elements. However, for Cole Cloey, it was anything but safe. When you, (character named V), explore this location, you will be taken aback when a bounty hunter raises a car to shield a Militech Centaur, only to turn hostile towards you and the Cyberpsycho, resulting in a confrontation between V and two adversaries.

In this confined combat zone, if the subpar objective is eliminated, V will face off against a Cyberpsycho armed in a mech suit. This Cyberpsycho will be equipped with the laser-gun and heavy armor plating similar to that of a Militech Centaur. Given that the Cyberpsycho is already aware of V’s presence, employing stealth tactics becomes largely impossible in this intense battle scenario.

1. Norio Akuhara

The Phantom of Night City Hunts Mercs and Tyger Claws (make 1st or 2nd)

  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: The Phantom of Night City
  • Location: Parking garage, north of the Halsey and MLK Fast Travel Point in the City Center
  • Reward: €$2,850

As a seasoned street fighter in Night City, my relentless pursuit to eliminate the Tyger Claws, an obsession fueled by Norio Akuhara’s tragic past, would ultimately lead me down a dark path. The loss of my girlfriend at their hands had ignited this fire within me, but over time, the line between friend and foe blurred as I was consumed by a merciless and unyielding cyberpsychosis.

When you meet Norio, he’ll respond aggressively right away. What makes him dangerous is that he’s equipped with invisible cyberware and katanas for close combat. This means he can attack V without being seen. To make matters worse, Norio will be engaged in a fight against the Tyger Claws gang simultaneously. So, V will have to face off against both a Cyberpsycho and a Night City gang in a challenging two-on-one battle.
