The latest addition to this growing collection is a new game based on the Edgerunners animated series.
CDPR Announces Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted Board Game
CD Projekt Red and No Loading Games recently announced Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted, a new board game launching in September 2026. Though fans are eager for more video games, a board game makes sense considering the Cyberpunk franchise started as a tabletop game in the 1980s. The popular video game Cyberpunk 2077 drew inspiration from that original game, and Edgerunners builds upon the world established in 2077. So, releasing an Edgerunners board game feels like a fitting return to the franchise’s origins.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted is a cooperative strategy game for 1-4 players. Missions are quick, lasting around 25 minutes, and take place on a changing map of Night City with time limits. It’s designed to be a faster, more relaxed experience than the 2024 board game, Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City, which was also more expensive. This game is specifically aimed at fans of the Edgerunners anime, letting players control characters like David and Lucy, and features an art style inspired by the show, not the video game.
You can now pre-order Edgerunners – Hunted, which comes in English and French. If you loved the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime but aren’t interested in board games, there’s good news: a second season is being made! While we don’t know when the new season will be released, it looks like the board game will come out first. However, a surprise release of the anime is still possible.
