A newly surfaced video reveals behind-the-scenes clips from a canceled Batman game featuring the Damian Wayne version of the character, known for his role as the Caped Crusader. Batman, a legendary superhero in DC Comics’ pantheon, has a vast collection of games inspired by him, dating back to the 1980s. Over the years, various popular games have been developed, drawing inspiration from the comics, animated shows, and even films centered on Batman. However, one series of Batman games is often highly regarded as some of the Dark Knight’s finest.
Originally appearing in 2009 with the groundbreaking title Batman: Arkham Asylum, the Arkham series, developed by Rocksteady and Eidos Studios, gained both critical and financial success. Arkham Asylum was widely recognized as one of the best comic book video games ever made, earning a Game of the Year nomination and contributing to Rocksteady’s Studio of the Year win. The series continued with various installments, including Arkham City, Arkham Knight, and Batman: Arkham Origins, with the latter two developed by Rocksteady while WB Games Montreal took over for the origins story. Recently, footage from another cancelled Rocksteady Batman game has been leaked online.
A video posted by the well-known Batman Arkham account, The Arkham Channel, showcases unseen footage from Rocksteady’s Damian Wayne game. In this clip, Killer Croc, a notorious Batman villain, is seen being confronted by Damian Wayne (Batman) in a high-speed motorcycle chase. It’s worth noting that the video contains various rough textures in the scene, such as the surrounding buildings and even the motorcycles used by Killer Croc and Batman. The uploader also mentions that the villain is represented by a placeholder model from Batman: Arkham Origins for Killer Croc.
Leaked Video Shows Canceled Damian Wayne Batman Game
Information about the abandoned “Project Sabbath,” the canceled Damian Wayne-focused Batman game, has been emerging, and the latest development is the release of a new video. In this game, Damian would have assumed the role of Batman, while an older, rugged Bruce Wayne was envisioned to guide him. Preliminary character models for Killer Croc hint that he might have played a major part in the plot, and concept art indicates the Huntress could also be featured.
Rocksteady Studios’ cancelled Batman project might have led them down a distinctly different route compared to their actual path, ultimately resulting in Batman: Arkham Knight being the final game in their Dark Knight series. Instead, they moved on to develop a new Suicide Squad game set within the same universe, titled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Unfortunately, this game did not receive the same level of critical praise as its predecessor, facing criticism for its gameplay and transition into live service.
