Dandadan Manga Is Going On A Two Week Break
The popular manga Dandadan will be taking a two-week break. It’s expected to return on May 5th with Chapter 232. While rumors of a pause have circulated for weeks, and the editor recently denied them, a short hiatus is now confirmed.
The reason for the break hasn’t been announced, but it’s often because the author or artist needs to focus on their health. Creating a manga chapter every week is very demanding, and can take a toll on someone’s well-being.
Hopefully, the break has some other reason, and Tatsu Yukinobu is still healthy.
Dandadan Is The Next Big Shonen Jump Project
Dandadan is a hugely popular anime and manga series that has quickly become a favorite among newer fans. In just six years, it’s already sold over 10 million copies. Plus, sales figures haven’t been updated since 2025, meaning the actual number is likely much higher now.
The popular series Dandadan has been adapted into an anime with two seasons already released, and a third is currently being made. Science Saru has announced that the third season is planned for 2027, but an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Dandadan is becoming very important for Shonen Jump. As popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia are nearing their endings in 2024, Shonen Jump needs a new hit, and Dandadan could be it.
Shows like Ichi the Witch and Kagurabachi have been well-received, but it’s unclear if they’ll become as popular as Dandadan. It’s also worth noting that neither of those series has been made into an anime yet, which could significantly increase their fanbase if they are.
