The dwelling that the Enjoji family occupied was spacious and immaculate. As a young boy, Jin felt an immediate joy and curiosity towards his new surroundings. The tranquil landscape and invigorating mountain air rekindled within him a fresh sense of vitality. However, this initial elation did not persist for long as he began to discern strange occurrences in his new abode.

Jiji found the bathroom, toilet, and household items seemed oddly unfamiliar. His suspicions deepened over time, yet he couldn’t articulate why. However, that all changed when a spirit residing in their home for a considerable period confronted him. Needless to say, Jiji was petrified. The situation worsened as the spirit persistently trailed him, even invading his dreams. Exhausted and bewildered, Jin tried to explain the malevolent presence in their house to his parents, but they failed to appreciate his concerns.

Since his parents disregarded his concerns, Jin likely felt isolated. He strived to disregard the presence of the spirit, yet matters worsened when his parents’ health suddenly declined. Realizing urgent action was needed, Jin opted to consult renowned mediums skilled in dealing with spirits. Exorcisms were arranged, but it seemed the malevolent entities in their home remained unaffected by these attempts.

In a turn of unfortunate events, three out of five mediums who attempted to expel the spirit met their ends in peculiar ways by taking their own lives. With no other alternatives left, Jiji was advised by fellow mediums that Seiko Ayase might be his last resort. This led Enjoji to reach out to Seiko, with the hope that she could provide a resolution to the strange occurrences related to the spirit.

Enjoji Got Possessed By The Evil Eye

After discovering about Jin Enjoji’s predicament, Seiko eventually asked him to her home. This series of events paved the way for Jin’s reunion with Momo Ayase, an old friend from childhood. Since their school days, they hadn’t exchanged words, and this unexpected meeting left Momo feeling uneasy. As always, Jiji greeted Momo with his easy-going demeanor. However, Momo, taken aback by his sudden visit, objected to him staying at the Ayase residence.

Later on, Jin confessed the grim reality he had been hiding. He disclosed the startling occurrences that took place within his supposedly haunted abode and further shared how he could now perceive spirits. Previously mocking Momo, Jiji felt remorseful and sincerely apologized for the pain inflicted. As a result, these childhood companions were able to confront and move past their lingering grudges. Nevertheless, since Seiko’s abilities are only effective within Kamigoe City, she delegated the task of exorcising the ghost in Jin’s home to Momo.

In a small village, Momo, Okarun, and Jin ventured to explore a supposedly cursed house. It turned out that this house was connected to a colossal earthworm creature called Tsuchinoko, also known as the Great Serpent. This monster had been venerated by the villagers for centuries, with rituals offering sacrifices every two hundred years to maintain the slumber of the nearby volcano. The Tsuchinoko is feared for its potent abilities, and when it encounters Momo and her companions, it instinctively tries to eliminate them.

Amidst the turmoil, Jin uncovers the past of the entity that’s been shadowing him all this time. It turns out this yokai is infamously known as the Evil Eye, bound to the Tsuchinoko sacrificial house for years. In bygone days, it was merely a child who suffered an unfortunate fate, destined as a sacrifice for the Tsuchinoko. After enduring a brutal demise and witnessing countless innocent children meet the same grim fate, the spirit grew to harbor deep-seated animosity towards mankind and swore vengeance.

Jin felt sympathy for the young child, who never had his wish to play with someone fulfilled, and decided to find the room where his body had been left to rot all this time. But his good intentions ended up backfiring as he was possessed by the Evil Spirit. After the Tsuchinoko was defeated, Jin still needed Momo and her grandmother’s help to escape the clutches of the evil spirit. In the process, Jiji ended up becoming an indispensable member of Momo and Okarun’s eccentric group, which embarked on countless bizarre supernatural misadventures together.
