Summary

  • Fans desire a Daredevil movie due to the success and popularity of the series on Netflix, continuing with Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+.
  • Charlie Cox shared optimism about a Daredevil film and urged fans to advocate for it by writing letters to decision-makers.
  • Despite delays for an individual film, Cox might appear in upcoming MCU movies like Spider-Man 4 and Secret Wars, while staying involved in the Daredevil: Born Again series.

Fans of Marvel can’t seem to get their fill of one particular TV show, and they’re yearning for its superhero protagonist to grace the silver screen once more. In response to this, the Marvel star playfully hinted, leaving fans with a task to bring their desires to life.

It’s only natural that Marvel enthusiasts would want a movie starring their preferred superhero, such as the demand for a standalone Black Widow film following Scarlett Johansson’s debut in Iron Man 2 (2010). After a decade, Marvel Studios finally released Black Widow (2021). Similarly, fans have been eagerly waiting for a new X-Men movie since Disney regained the rights after purchasing 20th Century Fox. Fans are now asking for another superhero to appear in a film on Disney+ as well.

The character Daredevil has been a fan favorite since its introduction on Netflix in 2015, streaming for three seasons. Its fourth season was halted as Marvel transitioned to Disney. However, the show resurfaced on Disney+ with Daredevil: Born Again in March 4, 2025. Despite having his own series, fans continue to express interest in seeing him on the big screen. During an interview at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Charlie Cox was asked about a potential Daredevil movie, and he frankly admitted that he was not informed. He suggested that fans should address their queries to the decision-makers since he did not have the information. Nevertheless, he agreed that a Daredevil movie would be beneficial and even called the Born Again pilot a “cinematic episode.” Therefore, Cox is openly in favor of a movie and encourages fans to advocate for it with those in charge. He further stated:

It seems fitting for it to play out on a large cinema screen. However, I’m not sure what to do. Maybe we should all just pen down our thoughts instead?

A Daredevil Film Seems Like A No-Brainer At This Point For Marvel Studios

Despite not having a standalone Marvel Cinematic Universe film for Charlie Cox’s character, he did appear in Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021), playing Matt Murdock, Peter Parker’s lawyer. His brief yet impactful role included an impressive display of reflexes when catching a thrown brick, suggesting his superhero abilities. Vincent D’Onofrio, Cox’s co-star from “Daredevil,” has been mentioned as a potential addition to Holland’s “Spider-Man” series. However, unlike Cox, who expresses enthusiasm about future screen appearances, D’Onofrio feels that his character, Kingpin, might not make it to the big screen anytime soon due to complications with rights ownership. As Kingpin is part of the “Spider-Man” universe owned by Sony, the MCU requires their approval to include him in any films.

Charlie Cox has garnered acclaim for his genuine and moving portrayal as Daredevil. He infuses Matt with depth, vulnerability, and resilience, depicting both the internal turmoil of a blind attorney battling personal demons and the intense, high-octane aspect of being a street-level vigilante. Fans believe that Cox was an ideal choice for the superhero role, and it’s evident that his on-screen chemistry with Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Vincent D’Onofrio is authentic. This is one of the reasons many hope to see them together in a movie. Although Cox might not get a standalone film, he could potentially appear in future Marvel Cinematic Universe productions like Spider-Man 4 or Secret Wars. Given his previous appearance in Spider-Man 3, this isn’t unrealistic. However, the specifics of Cox’s involvement in an upcoming MCU film are yet to be determined. What is certain is that he will reprise his role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will premiere on Disney in March 2026.
