The Dark Souls series has been a mainstay for quite some time now, and numerous gamers concur that the third iteration is unquestionably superior. In Dark Souls 3, players were introduced to some of the franchise’s most formidable foes, but it also offered them the exciting opportunity to unearth fresh weapons, armor, and enchantments, making gameplay even more engaging.
In this game, you can jumpstart with characters such as the Mercenary, who carries the Sellsword Twinblades by default, ensuring an abundance of excitement and opportunities for adventure. However, certain armor sets from past games not only looked great but also played significant roles in their respective narratives. Here’s a guide on how to acquire the Sunset Armor in Dark Souls 3.
How To Get The Armor Of The Sun Set
Initially appearing in the original “Dark Souls” game, Solaire of Astoria quickly gained popularity among fans not just for his vibrant armor, but also for his distinct personality and unique move “Hail the Sun.” Although he doesn’t show up in “Dark Souls 3,” players can still obtain his distinctive armor set and combine it with a potent weapon like the Farron Greatsword as a tribute to him. Keep in mind that acquiring this outfit won’t be simple, but when you don the clothing of such an influential character, the effort will prove to be rewarding.
As a gamer, here’s my take:
To grab the Armor of the Sun Set, I first need to get the Tower Key from the Handmaid in the Firelink Shrine. This key doesn’t come free; it costs a hefty 20,000 Souls. After I’ve handed over that much, she’ll give me the key and I’ll be able to access the tower at the top of the Firelink Shrine.
Once you’re there, climb the spiraling stairs until you reach a section of open bridge. Don’t walk all the way across to the door at the other end; instead, pause halfway, turn left, and look down. You’ll spot some steps that lead to the shingles on the ceiling of the Firelink Shrine. That’s where I need to go to get the armor set.
If you find yourself upside down, you’ll notice a large, vacant bird’s nest overhead and hear a squeaky voice addressing you; this is the Pickle Pee, Pump-A-Rum Crow, or “Nestling”. This creature will exchange valuable items with you if you place them in her nest. To obtain the Armor of the Sun Set, do as follows:
1. Locate the Pickle Pee, Pump-A-Rum Crow and find her nest.
2. Gather the required items for the armor.
3. Carefully drop the gathered items into her nest.
4. The Armor of the Sun Set will then be yours to wear.
- A Siegbräu for the Armor of the Sun
- A Homeward Bone for the Iron Bracelets
- A Seed of a Giant Tree for the Iron Leggings
- A Lightning Urn for the Iron Helm
- A Mendicant’s Staff for the Sunlight Shield
After swapping out every piece, you’ll don the resplendent Sunset Armor, radiating Solaire’s happiness wherever life takes you.
Where Is Solaire Of Astora In Dark Souls 3?
In Dark Souls 3, Solaire’s whereabouts are unclear because he doesn’t show up in the game. The only hint about his existence here is the Armor of the Sun Set. However, it’s believed that if players keep him alive during the original Dark Souls, they might end up lighting the bonfire and becoming a legend, which is quite touching.
