Date Everything Has Become a ‘Who’s Who’ of Game Actors

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming indie dating simulator, Date Everything, has managed to pique my interest like no other game in recent memory. The sheer audacity of allowing players to date an array of inanimate objects and concepts is nothing short of brilliant, but what truly sets this game apart is its impressive roster of iconic voice actors.

Indie dating simulator Date Everything attracted attention as soon as it was announced for its bizarre and hilarious premise: the player character is able to date an entire house full of inanimate objects and even concepts such as rejection. However, Date Everything is far more than a funny dating simulator. With a cast of 100 dateable characters, the game has become a “who’s who” of iconic video game actors, from its creators Ray Chase, Max Mittelman, and Robbie Daymond to the many characters recently announced via a holiday advent character on the game’s X account.

Many Iconic Actors Were Revealed Via Date Everything’s Advent Calendar

For twelve days leading up to Christmas, I was thrilled as the official Date Everything account on X (previously known as Twitter) unveiled more than a dozen fresh characters! These exciting newcomers will be brought to life by talented voices from iconic series like Sonic the Hedgehog, Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Vox Machina, and many others. As part of the Date Everything advent calendar, these characters were revealed daily!

  • Sophia, theorized to be a sofa, voiced by Laura Post.
  • Tina, possibly a drinking glass or a triangle instrument, voiced by Grey DeLisle.
  • Tony, a tool chest, voiced by Roger Craig Smith.
  • Abel, a table, voiced by Steve Blum.
  • Beau, a cardboard storage box, voiced by Ashley Johnson.
  • Beverly, likely a bar or bar cart, voiced by Marisha Ray.
  • Washford and Drysdale, a washer and dryer pair, voiced by David Sobolov and Neil Newbon.

This Game Puts The Focus On Its Actors

In the game titled “Date Everything”, an appealing, vibrant art design and a generous dose of humor – including numerous witty character names and a rubber duck who substitutes “duck” for strong language – are prominent. However, it is evident that the performances by the actors will be central to the experience. Every one of the game’s 100 characters will have voice acting, and each dateable character will offer players at least three different outcomes to explore. The emphasis on acting and star-studded cast in “Date Everything” could potentially make it shine among the top dating simulators.

It’s worth noting that some well-known actors apart from those featured in the Advent Calendar are participating in the production of Date Everything. Earlier, it was announced that SungWon Cho, voice actor for Delicious in Dungeon, will be voicing an eccentric white character named Doug. Given this and other confirmations, such as Laura Bailey, Ben Starr, Bryce Papenbrook, Felicia Day, and more, the term “the Avengers of voice actors” seems fitting for Date Everything. Additionally, Chase and Daymond will lend their voices to characters in the game – a candelabra and a group of coat hangers named “the Hanks,” respectively.

It comes as no surprise that so many actors have eagerly lent their voices to Date Everything. The game kicks off with the player character losing their job and being replaced by AI, something which Date Everything stands fully against from the very first moment. Replacement by AI is currently a major concern for actors, with the possibility that their voices and likenesses will be illegally and unethically captured and re-used. Some of Date Everything’s cast members have previously spoken out against the use of AI in video games and other creative media.

Date Everything distinguishes itself from other games in its category due to its unique premise. However, the game’s focus on assembling a stellar cast of actors to breathe life into its vast array of dateable characters might be its most significant asset. Players will have the opportunity to engage with this star-studded cast when Date Everything is released on Valentine’s Day 2025.
