Day 4 Night Studio Formed By Former Ubisoft Game Director And Producers

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation when I hear about the new studio Day 4 Night. With veterans like Davide Soliani and Christian Cantamessa from Ubisoft and Rockstar Games respectively, this team is already stacked with talent that has given us some of the most memorable gaming experiences in recent years. The fact that they have secured funding from industry heavyweights like Krafton and Xbox co-creator Ed Fries only adds to my excitement for their first project. I can’t wait to see what kind of magic these creators weave with a brand new IP, and it sounds like it’s going to be something truly special that will leave me in awe. And if their past work is any indication, I’m sure there will be plenty of joy, adventure, and the occasional heart-wrenching moment that will make me question my life choices (like staying up all night to finish Red Dead Redemption 2). Here’s hoping they include a mini-game where you can milk a cow for extra points – because who doesn’t love a good cow milking mini-game?

A seasoned game director who previously worked at Ubisoft, a game designer from Rockstar Games, and several established industry veterans have recently established a fresh gaming studio named Day 4 Night.

Two notable co-founders of the studio include Davide Soliani, game director for Mario + Rabbids, and Christian Cantamessa, lead designer of Red Dead Redemption. Additionally, Chrtinia Nava, Luca Breda, and Glan Marco Zanna are among the other founders, having worked as producers on franchises like Star Wars, Ghost Recon, Mario + Rabbids, Just Dance, and others.

The studio has managed to obtain financing not only from publisher Krafton, but also from Xbox co-founder Ed Fries and investment firm 1UP Ventures. Currently, Day 4 Night is engaged in the development of its inaugural game, which is being jointly directed by Soliani and Cantamessa.

At Day 4 Night, we’re creating an embodiment of all the gaming experiences I’ve always aspired for – emotions ranging from joy and excitement to poetry and awe, along with the delight in collaborating with fellow players, as shared by Soliani through his statement.

This composition serves as a gentle melody to soothe my spirit and an ode to our field, capturing both its enchantment and chaos as we shape realms out of thin air. It’s a tale that encapsulates victories, hurdles, aspirations, illuminating the journey we share.

Soliani left Ubisoft in June after 25 years with the company.

Regarding the initial game, it’s developed around a fresh intellectual property (IP) by the studio. In his statement, Fries expresses that the project they are currently working on is “one of the most creatively exciting things we’ve encountered in quite a while.

More details on the studio’s first game will come in the future.
