As a huge fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the sequel ever since its predecessor became a massive hit on Xbox Game Pass. And now, it’s been confirmed that it’ll be available on this fantastic platform as well. The latest updates have even given us a sneak peek at High on Life 2, with a concrete release date in sight!
In June 2025, during the Xbox Games Showcase, it was announced by Squanch Games that a sequel to the popular title, “High On Life,” is slated for release in winter of the same year. Similar to its predecessor, “High On Life 2” will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day. The initial trailer unveiled at the event hinted at numerous exciting new actions and gun-wielding conversations for players to enjoy. Since then, Squanch Games has shared some additional information about what fans can anticipate from the upcoming sequel.
High on Life 2 is Coming to Xbox Game Pass and Other Systems on February 13, 2026
At Gamescom 2025, Squanch Games unveiled that “High On Life 2” will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass, as well as on PC and PS5, starting in February of the following year. This announcement follows close behind the reappearance of the original “High On Life” on Xbox Game Pass in July, after its departure from the platform in June 2024. As a result, subscribers have the opportunity to re-experience the original game before jumping into the sequel early next year. Additionally, the Gamescom preview disclosed some other details about “High On Life 2”, such as the addition of Ralph Ineson, a familiar face from “The Witch” or “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, to the cast of chattering guns.
In the preview trailer, players are given an opportunity to cruise about on a skateboard instead of just sprinting. Characters voiced by Betsy Sodaro, J.B. Smoove, and Richard Kind will reprise their roles as weapons from the initial game. The demo at Gamescom suggests that High On Life 2 surpasses its predecessor in both combat and platforming elements. Given its massive success as the top Xbox Game Pass release of 2022, it appears that the sequel is staying true to the original’s essence.
Besides the excitement surrounding High On Life 2, Xbox Game Pass users also had another major announcement to look forward to at Gamescom 2025. During the Opening Night Live pre-show, developers at Lunar Software officially revealed that their upcoming horror game, ROUTINE, is slated for a Q4 2025 release as a day-one Game Pass title. Although the exact release date remains unknown, it certainly appears to be an exciting time for Xbox enthusiasts!
