On October 20, 2025, Days Gone Remastered was updated to version 1.036.180. The update added a new feature that’s also available in a few other games published by PlayStation.
When Days Gone first came out in April 2019, opinions were divided. Some reviewers liked the massive groups of enemies (called Freakers), but many found the open world uninteresting, the story too long, and the gameplay repetitive. Despite this initial reaction, the game has become surprisingly popular over the past six years, and that popularity has led to a remastered version coming out in April 2025. The remaster features improved graphics, plus new game modes like permadeath, wave defense, and speedrunning.
Days Gone Remastered Releases 1.036.180 Patch

With the October 2025 update (patch 1.036.180), PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro players can now enable Power Saver mode for Days Gone Remastered. This feature, added in a September 2025 firmware update, lowers the console’s energy usage, though it may slightly reduce game performance. Days Gone Remastered is the second PlayStation game to get this update, and two more are planned to follow soon. Here’s a list of games currently supported by Power Saver mode:
- Demon’s Souls
- Days Gone Remastered
- Ghost of Yotei (Yet to receive update)
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (Yet to receive update)

Okay, so I figured out how to turn on Power Saver mode on my PS5! You go into the console settings, then to ‘System’. From there, you scroll down to ‘Power Saving’ and turn it on. Then, a list of all my games pops up, and I can choose to enable the power saving feature for each one. Pretty simple!
Activating Power Saver mode does impact how games play. Users on ResetEra who’ve tried it with Demon’s Souls report the game runs at 30 frames per second and the graphics appear less detailed. This same performance drop is probably true for other games that work with PlayStation’s Power Saver mode, like Days Gone Remastered.

Sony has announced that more games will soon get a Power Saver mode, though they haven’t specified which ones yet. Some people think this feature might be a hint at a new handheld PlayStation console. Leaks from a source named Kepler suggest the next PlayStation could include a portable device that uses Power Saver tech to run games at a lower resolution and framerate. However, it’s important to remember that this information is currently just speculation.
