The illustrations for the forthcoming Dragon Delves adventure booklet of Dungeons & Dragons have been unveiled, showcasing the monsters that players might run into while reading it.
5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons (D&D 5e) has published numerous well-received adventure compilations, such as Candlekeep Mysteries and Keys from the Golden Vault. These collections offer brief adventures that span diverse genres and settings, giving Dungeon Masters (DMs) flexibility to incorporate them into a larger campaign, use them individually, or insert them seamlessly into ongoing games.
As a passionate gamer, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming release on July 8, 2025. The new adventure anthology I’ve been eagerly waiting for is called “Dragon Delves”. This book promises a thrilling journey, with ten unique adventures that each tie into one of the five Chromatic dragons (Black, Blue, Green, Red, and White) and the five Metallic dragons (Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, and Silver). Can’t wait to delve into these dragon-themed quests!
At MagicCon: Chicago, Wizards of the Coast unveiled some of the artworks for Dragons Delve, coinciding with the announcement of the upcoming D&D and Magic: The Gathering collaboration. Among these were the two cover designs to expect.

Dragons Delve Has Some Of The Most Unique D&D Artwork To Date
Instead of adhering to the consistent art style across different D&D books, Dragons Delve will break away from tradition by showcasing various artistic styles, one example being the vibrant neon dragon cover designed by Justine Jones, as depicted in the image provided.
Another image showcases a group of Chromatic dragons confronting a band of adventurers, skillfully designed by Greg Staples. Among the other artworks, there’s a black-and-white dragon sketch by Luke Eidenschink, an elegantly white-styled dragon by Ed Kwong, and a menacing green dragon painting by Dominik Mayer.
In Dragons Delve, you’ll find adventures suitable for characters ranging from Level 1 to Level 12. Consequently, it’s important to note that this book doesn’t primarily focus on battles against powerful ancient dragons. Instead, the adventures encompass a variety of experiences, not just mortal combat with formidable wyrms.
At MagicCon: Chicago, the showcased artwork primarily focuses on Chromatic dragons, typically portrayed as malevolent characters and frequent antagonists in campaigns. Instead of straightforward battles with large, scaly creatures, which DMs can easily create themselves, the Dragons Delve adventures may offer more intricate and engaging scenarios for players to explore. The creators of the book will need to think outside the box to provide unique and captivating ideas for these encounters.
