As a seasoned survivor and killer player of Dead by Daylight, I’ve had my fair share of encounters with The Trickster. And let me tell you, these new add-ons have certainly shaken up the game for this elusive Killer.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the arrival of the All-Kill DLC chapter, which introduces Ji-Woon Hak to Dead by Daylight. This K-Pop phenomenon, The Trickster, is all about seizing the limelight with his dazzling blades, ensuring no one else can outshine him in the game. Fortunately, a handful of perks are all it takes for The Trickster‘s abilities to truly sparkle in Dead by Daylight.
As a seasoned player of Dead by Daylight, I highly recommend this guide for those who wish to master The Trickster effectively, even in challenging Survivor-favoring situations. This guide offers a mix of both non-teachable and teachable perks, catering to players with varying financial resources. For newcomers or budget-conscious players, the inclusion of teachable perks ensures that they too can enjoy playing as this K-Pop Killer.
The Trickster: Best Beginner Build (2024)
As a dedicated fan of “Dead by Daylight,” I’ve crafted a challenging build for The Trickster that can turn the tables in the Endgame. By utilizing his innate abilities, I can effectively block the escape routes of each hooked Survivor, making their chances of survival slim. This strategy primarily focuses on stalling and swiftly bringing down my hapless opponents. When the exit gates are powered, The Trickster unveils his ultimate move, turning the game in my favor.
- No Way Out (The Trickster) – When a Survivor interacts with an exit gate at the end of the trial, the Killer will receive a noise notification, and the exit gates will be blocked for 12 seconds, plus another 12 seconds for each new Survivor hooked.
- Hex: Crowd Control (The Trickster) – For as long as the Hex Totem stands, any rushed vault a Survivor performs causes the vault location to block for 60 seconds.
- Bitter Murmur (General Perk) – Each time a generator is completed, the auras of Survivors within 16 meters of that generator are revealed for 5 seconds. Once the last generator is complete, all Survivors’ auras are revealed for 10 seconds.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk) – After the final generator is completed, all Survivors suffer from the Exposed status ailment, and you gain a 4% Haste effect until the Hex Totem is cleansed.
The Trickster: Best Build (2024)
In this strategy, The Trickster thrives in open environments with minimal hindrances, and while he’s swift when needed, his speed of inflicting harm on Survivors can sometimes be reduced. This setup primarily focuses on employing potent regression perks such as The Clown’s Pop Goes the Weasel and The Plague’s Corrupt Intervention to decelerate the early game pace.
- Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – At the start of the trial, the 3 generators furthest from the Killer’s starting location are blocked for 120 seconds or until the first Survivor is downed.
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – The Killer starts with four tokens. For each different Survivor hooked on a white Scourge Hook, lose one token and explode the generator with the most progress, causing it to lose 20% of its progress.
- Pop Goes the Weasel (The Clown) – 45 seconds after hooking a Survivor, damaging a generator will remove 20% of its current progress.
- No Way Out (The Trickster) – When a Survivor interacts with an exit gate at the end of the trial, the Killer will receive a noise notification and the exit gates will be blocked for 12 seconds, plus another 12 seconds for each new Survivor hooked.
The Trickster: Best Add-Ons
The Trickster’s Add-Ons are a diverse group, ranging from completely niche and useless to reliable and impactful. His Ultra Rare Add-Ons aren’t necessarily the strongest, however. This guide will highlight the best Trickster Add-Ons (in order of rarity).
Memento Blades
To effectively increase the rate at which you inflict injuries on Survivors and escalate their Laceration level, the Memento Blades offer a significant and noticeable advantage by boosting your throwing speed by approximately 10%.
Inferno Wires
Since The Trickster’s buff, the Main Event occurs much more frequently. Now, the Main Event can be set off during each pursuit, making the extended duration of Inferno Wires significantly more beneficial.
Tequila Moonrock
By prolonging the Main Event, Tequila Moonrock can make sure that Survivors get overwhelmed by the continuous assault of Blades with a higher occurrence of Inferno Wires.
Lucky Blade
While Tequila Moonrock and the Inferno Wires consistently deliver value during the Main Event, the Lucky Blade Showstopper Add-On can be an effective supplement to your arsenal. The extended duration of this add-on becomes especially useful when taking on groups of Survivors during the Main Event, particularly those who are cooperating or acting selflessly.
Caged Heart Shoes
As a gamer, when facing The Trickster, I’ve learned that since he slows down slightly while tossing his blades, it’s wise for survivors to dodge out of sight and keep their distance. However, with the Caged Heart Shoes equipped, things get trickier because I close in on them quicker, making it harder for them to evade my relentless attacks.
Waiting For You Watch
The Waiting for You Watch Add-On, an enhancement for the Lucky Blade, has the capability to penalize clustered Survivors during the Main Event in a potentially endless sequence of encounters.
Trick Blades
The Trick Blades are an advanced accessory that calls for a distinct strategy when used with The Trickster. By introducing a bouncing effect onto the blades, skilled players can strategically strike Survivors near loops on turns. This tactic is particularly significant in indoor maps, but when wielded by an expert, the Trick Blades can transform seemingly safe loops into potential hazards even for seasoned loop dodgers.
Diamond Cufflinks
Spotting the auras of Survivors is generally beneficial for a Killer, as it facilitates the prediction of their movements and allows for more effective mind games. The Diamond Cufflinks, when used, will reveal a Survivor’s aura if they are only one hit away from being injured for a duration of 6 seconds. While this effect isn’t always useful, it certainly isn’t without value.
Iridescent Photocard
The Shimmering Photocard may not hold the same high value as Tequila Moonrock or Memento Blades, but it is indispensable to dedicated and skilled Trickster players. With each blade strike, it grants a cumulative Speed bonus, enabling the Trickster to relentlessly pursue Survivors and keep them within reach, effectively cutting off their escape routes and making it difficult for them to evade attacks.
