Dead by Daylight Making UI Changes

Dead by Daylight Making UI Changes

Highlights

  • Dead by Daylight developers plan to adjust the UI based on player feedback post-update 8.1.0.
  • Fans have criticized the new UI changes, specifically in regard to the character selection screen layout, comparing it to a DLC shop.
  • Behaviour did not provide any specific information on when the changes will come, so players will have to remain patient.

As a long-time player of Dead by Daylight, I’ve seen my fair share of UI changes over the years. Some have been welcome improvements, while others have left me scratching my head and yearning for the old days. The latest UI update, which came with the addition of Lara Croft in July, has been a particularly contentious issue for many players.

The team responsible for creating the asymmetric online survival horror game “Dead by Daylight” is planning to enhance its character menu and customization interface. Specific improvements for the game’s UI are still undisclosed, but they will be derived from suggestions and feedback given by players.

The 8.1.0 update for the game was released on July 16. The introduction of Lara Croft from “Tomb Raider” into “Dead by Daylight” attracted much notice, but some adjustments to the user interface have been met with criticism from many players.

As a dedicated fan of “Dead by Daylight,” I’ve noticed a significant shift in the game’s character selection menu following the recent 8.1.0 update. Previously, all my owned survivors and killers were conveniently displayed at the top of the screen. However, after the update, these characters are now mixed in among all available characters, resulting in a cluttered and somewhat confusing screen that feels more like a DLC shop to me. I’ve seen other fans expressing similar concerns on social media. The developers have acknowledged these complaints and assured us that they plan to make adjustments to the user interface based on player feedback. They’ve even promised to keep us informed once solid plans are in place for these changes.

Fans Aren’t Satisfied With Dead by Daylight’s Response to UI Concerns

In the upcoming ninth year plan for Dead by Daylight, some modifications are expected. However, the proposed UI adjustment, which is a common request among fans, hasn’t received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Many comments on social media criticize the ambiguous “in the future” timeframe and lack of detail regarding the upcoming changes. Some fans simply yearn for the UI to revert back to its previous state after the 8.1.0 update, expressing dissatisfaction with the update’s effects.

Recently, the player base of “Dead by Daylight” has criticized not only the user interface modifications but also the sudden announcement of DLC price hikes on PC. Following the release of the latest update, Behaviour Interactive declared that starting July 22, the prices of All Things Wicked, Sadako Rising, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, Silent Hill, and Dungeons and Dragons DLC will increase by $1 each. The developer explained that this change aims to maintain balance for cross progression across all platforms except Nintendo Switch.
