Behaviour Interactive has officially announced to its fanbase that they are currently developing a much-requested gifting system, similar to Fortnite’s, for Dead by Daylight. Players of Dead by Daylight have been eagerly requesting this feature, but up until now, some technical hurdles prevented Behaviour from implementing it. However, those issues have reportedly been resolved now.
Over time, the thrilling asymmetrical horror of “Dead by Daylight” has seen considerable development, largely due to the ongoing support from Behaviour Interactive. As a live-service game, “Dead by Daylight” is perpetually evolving, with its developer consistently introducing fresh content for enthusiasts such as new features, collaborations with new playable characters, updates, and more. On July 25th, players can anticipate an exciting crossover between “Dead by Daylight” and “The Walking Dead”, featuring new characters and settings. Moving forward in the game’s progression, Behaviour Interactive has many plans for 2025; however, there was one popular feature from “Fortnite” that wasn’t guaranteed to be incorporated—until now.
In a recent Q&A session about the game Dead by Daylight, the developers discussed the prospect of incorporating a gifting system similar to Fortnite’s. They confirmed that such a feature is being developed and are currently discussing the necessary security and safety measures. However, eager fans will have to wait until April 2026 for its implementation, though they hinted that the release date might be adjusted.
Dead by Daylight Plans to Introduce Gifting System in April 2026
For those who aren’t familiar, Fortnite’s gifting mechanism enables players to essentially pass on cosmetic items such as skins, emotes, Battle Passes (which can be purchased with real money), and other content directly to their friends through the Item Shop. At this point, it remains uncertain if this system will function in the same manner for Dead by Daylight, and Behaviour Interactive has not revealed any specifics yet. All they’ve shared is that the team already has a concept for the feature.
Over the current Gifting System, Behaviour Interactive has shared details about additional content and upcoming features they’re planning for the widely-played game, “Dead by Daylight.” These additions include a refined and precise chat filter aimed at blocking aggressive player comments, a revamped Skull Merchant scheduled for 2026, more Licensed Killers in 2v8 mode, and new themed maps. Interestingly, they’ve hinted at the possibility of creating a documentary that offers fans a glimpse into the process of character and story creation within the game—although no specific release dates have been set yet. In the meantime, players can look forward to the imminent arrival of the Gifting System in “Dead by Daylight,” with an expected launch before April 2026.
