The popular horror game, Dead by Daylight, has unveiled its upcoming storyline titled, “Doomed Course“. This exciting chapter is set to arrive in November. It introduces a fresh killer and survivor character, further enriching the intricate backstory of Dead by Daylight.

This year, the game Dead by Daylight has unveiled multiple chapters, introducing a host of captivating licensed and original characters into the misty atmosphere. Approximately every three months, these chapters introduce new DLC characters, often as a fresh killer, survivor, or both. The latest chapter for Dead by Daylight introduced iconic characters from Castlevania, including Dracula and Trevor Belmont. As this chapter nears its end, Dead by Daylight is now revealing its upcoming chapter and the content it will offer.

In an update, it was officially announced that the “Doomed Course” chapter for Dead by Daylight, which was initially mentioned in their Year 9 plan, will be releasing on November 28th. As explained on Behaviour’s website for Dead by Daylight, this new chapter will introduce the Houndmaster as the latest killer in the game. Known for her dark past and unique nature, the Houndmaster stands out among other killers due to her tragic backstory and control over Dead by Daylight’s first AI-controlled pet, Snug. Players can utilize the Houndmaster’s abilities to command Snug to track down survivors and even offer him affectionate pats, as confirmed on Dead by Daylight’s Instagram.

In addition to introducing a new antagonist, “Doomed Course” will also introduce a fresh survivor into the universe of “Dead by Daylight.” Just like all other characters, Taurie Cain will arrive with three unique abilities but will also enrich the game’s lore significantly. Morally ambiguous, Tauri Cain is closely tied to the Entity, the force controlling events in the “Dead by Daylight” world. Furthermore, both the Houndmaster and Taurie Cain have delved into bleeds – places where reality intersects with the Entity’s realm – and possess extensive knowledge about these areas as well as their hidden secrets.

In summary, both characters Taurie Cain (survivor) and The Houndmaster (killer) will each bring three distinctive abilities to the game, Dead by Daylight. The fresh killer abilities being introduced in this update offer enhancements to a character’s lunge attack, a novel scourge hook, and a perk similar to Merciless Storm, but instead for healing rather than fixing generators. On the other hand, the new survivor abilities include another invocation, a healing-focused perk, and an intriguing hook state trading perk. The expansion, Doomed Course, is scheduled to launch in Dead by Daylight on November 28; however, it’s currently accessible for players on the Public Testing Build.

Dead by Daylight’s Doomed Course Chapter Killer and Survivor Abilities/Perks

New Killer – The Houndmaster

Killer Power – Scent of Blood

The Houndmaster and her dog operate as one. Her commands are followed without question or delay.

Special Ability: Chase

When you activate the Chase Command, the dog takes off at full speed to pursue the target. Pressing the Power button again causes the dog to change direction, altering its course. If the dog catches up to a Survivor, it initiates a Grab, causing the Survivor to slow down and be pulled towards the Houndmaster. The Survivor can break free from the dog’s grasp by stunning it or be saved by another Survivor. A successful Grab that doesn’t result in an injury leaves the Survivor slowed down (Hindered). The duration of a Grab is shorter for Survivors with the Endurance status effect.

Special Ability: Search

As a passionate fan, I’d say: When I issue a Search Command, my trusty canine companion sets off towards a designated spot, carving a Search Trail. It hums a soothing tune along the way, and as it advances, its Houndsense range expands with each step. Anyone within this range is marked by Houndsense, becoming visible to Killer Instinct. If I stick to the dog’s Search Route, my movement speed gradually improves. However, straying from the path causes the bonus speed to disappear.

Special Effect: Houndsense

Survivors in good health who have experienced Houndsense encounter Severe Injuries when hurt. Injured individuals exposed to Houndsense produce Loud Cries of Agony and Extended Amounts of Blood when they enter a Critical Condition.

Perks:

All-Shaking Thunder

  • After you fall from a height, your lunge attack distance is increased by 75/75/75% for 8/12/16 seconds.
  • This perk has a 5/5/5-second cooldown.

Scourge Hook: Jagged Compass

  • At the start of the trial, up to 4 random hooks are changed into scourge hooks. You see their auras in white.
  • When a Survivor is unhooked from a non-scourge hook, it becomes a scourge hook. When you hook a Survivor on a Scourge Hook, the aura of the generator with the most progress is revealed in yellow for 6/8/10 seconds.

No Quarter

  • When a Survivor reaches 75/75/75% of a self-heal, they are faced with continuous skill checks.
  • If one of these skill checks is missed or the heal is interrupted, the Survivor becomes broken for 20/25/30 seconds.

New Survivor – Taurie Cain

Perks

Invocation: Treacherous Crows

  • When in the Basement near the circle, press the ability button 2 to begin the Invocation. Invocations take 60/60/60 seconds. Other Survivors will see your aura during this and can join an ongoing interaction. Once the Invocation is completed: Completing the Invocation disables that perk for all Survivors.
  • You become injured and broken for the rest of the trial.
  • When a Survivor is in the Terror Radius and the Killer scares a crow, their aura is revealed to all Survivors for 1/1.5/2 seconds

Clean Break

  • After you finish healing another Survivor, while being healed by another Survivor, press the ability button 1 to become Broken.
  • After 80/70/60 seconds, you become healthy.

This benefit only works if you’re not already damaged. It gets deactivated if you reach a critical health state (on the verge of death).

Shoulder the Burden

  • Once per trial, as long as you are not on death hook, press the ability button 2 in front of a hooked Survivor to unhook them. When they are unhooked, they lose 1 hook state and you gain 1 hook state. You also scream and become Exposed for 30/25/20 seconds.
