Dead by Daylight has shared additional information about its upcoming fear-inducing Killer, Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s. This partnership brings the terror of FNAF to reality, as Dead by Daylight characters must maneuver and endure on a new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria game map.

In various primary and side series games, the character “Five Nights at Freddy’s” boasts numerous potential adversaries that could be highlighted in “Dead by Daylight”. Nevertheless, the development team seized the chance to transform Springtrap into a terrifying new “Dead by Daylight” Killer for this partnership. This decision was primarily driven by Springtrap’s significant role within the expansive “FNAF” narrative. Springtrap is a yellow animatronic rabbit that encases the villain of “FNAF”, William Afton, in a mummy-like form. Players initially encounter this terrifying bunny in the third “FNAF” game; however, his presence and impact extend to every manifestation of the Fazbear Pizza franchise.

In the game ‘Dead by Daylight‘, Springtrap is known for his skills in monitoring, chasing, and frightening Survivors using a big pizza knife and a fire axe. This latter weapon serves as his special ability, causing an area-of-effect (AOE) that uncovers any Survivors within the map when thrown. If a Survivor encounters Springtrap’s axe, they must either take it off themselves or ask for help from their fellow Survivor before the Killer arrives. However, if the Killer attempts to remove the axe, the famous jump scare of the FNAF animatronic will occur, leading to the player being taken to a hook and eventually killed.

Dead by Daylight Makes Springtrap Even More Terrifying

On June 17, 2025, when the collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy’s is unveiled, Springtrap will be equipped with several new skins. One of these is the “Yellow Rabbit Legendary Outfit”, reminiscent of the live-action FNAF film, which showcases the likeness of Matthew Lillard (who portrays William Afton in the movie) and exclusive voice lines specifically recorded for the game.
