Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 Finally Adding Vecna as a New Killer

Get ready for the return of Stranger Things to Dead by Daylight! Behaviour Interactive has shared new details about the upcoming Survivors and, most notably, Vecna’s powers. Since Stranger Things and Dead by Daylight have collaborated before, this update will finally introduce the show’s scariest villain into the game.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things premiered on December 31st, bringing an end to the popular Netflix series that began in 2016. While the show has concluded, fans can still enjoy Stranger Things content in the Dead by Daylight game. An update arriving near the end of January will allow players to battle Vecna, or play as him and use his powers to scare other players.

Stranger Things’ Second Crossover with Dead by Daylight Arrives on January 27

The second crossover between Dead by Daylight and Stranger Things was originally revealed in late November. This makes Stranger Things only the second franchise to get a second collaboration within the game. Recently, the Dead by Daylight development team shared a lot more details about the upcoming update, including a new one-minute trailer. The DLC, launching January 27th, will let players take on the role of The First, who is the villain Henry Creel (also known as Vecna from the show) – a nod to his identity for those familiar with Dungeons & Dragons.

The newest Killer in Dead by Daylight has the power to warp the game world. While details are still emerging, he can use the Upside Down to move around the map quickly, even rising from the ground to attack Survivors. Like in the show, he’ll also use vines to trap players. He can even place curses on Survivors, distorting their vision and making it much harder to figure out how to stop him.

Vecna won’t be alone for long! Eleven and Dustin are joining the game as playable characters. While both have been key figures since the beginning of the series, Eleven’s addition is a bit surprising, as these characters are typically much weaker than the Killers. The developers have announced that each new Survivor will have unique abilities – Dustin will utilize his quick thinking and resourcefulness, while Eleven will bring her psychic powers to the game. Given Eleven’s ability to seemingly revive people in the show, alongside her usual psychic attacks, it will be interesting to see how her powers are balanced against the other characters’ skills.

New character skins are coming to the game, including the introduction of Robin Buckley and the return of Eddie Munson! The recent Stranger Things crossover allowed players to play as Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington, and added the Demogorgon as a Killer. An upcoming update will add skins for Nancy and Dustin, letting them appear as Robin and Eddie. This means players can finally create a full team of Stranger Things characters to face off against Vecna and other Killers, including the Vecna inspired by Dungeons & Dragons.
