It’s like having a built-in teammate that’s just as eager to chase you down as the Killer themselves.

The chapter titled “Doomed Course” in the game “Dead by Daylight” has been released! With this update, we welcome two fresh characters, one of which is the very first Killer in “Dead by Daylight” who comes accompanied by an AI-managed partner.

Since 2016, Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetric survival horror game, Dead by Daylight, has maintained its popularity, reaching over 60 million lifetime players in late 2023 and still boasting millions of monthly active users a year later. Much like other thriving live-service games, this enduring success is largely attributed to the consistent release of new content approximately every three months.

The “Dead by Daylight: Doomed Course” Chapter has recently been released on Thursday, November 28th. This latest update over Thanksgiving introduces a new character, both as a Killer (The Houndmaster) and a Survivor (Taurie Cain). As her name suggests, The Houndmaster, Portia Maye, commands a bloodthirsty dog that follows her orders. Thus, she’s the game’s first-ever Killer with an AI-controlled pet, making her playstyle unique. Her black hound is capable of tracking, chasing, and cornering Survivors, providing consistent pressure in the game.

The dog’s control system is quite simple, allowing its “Chase” ability to both propel it forward and alter its course based on whether it’s already moving. On the other hand, the “Search” ability uncovers any Survivors within its expanding range, and additionally boosts Portia Maye’s movement speed if she trails behind the dog. In essence, Portia Maye brings a unique twist to the game dynamics of Dead by Daylight, adding fresh mechanics to the traditional cat-and-mouse gameplay.

Taurie Cain Is Dead By Daylight’s ‘Morally Darkest Survivor’

Taurie Cain, as described by Behaviour Interactive, is one of the most morally complex Survivors ever created. Her past involves betraying a sinister group known as the Black Talon when she refused to kill an innocent person, which puts her in a difficult situation. The character perks Taurie Cain brings to Dead by Daylight are Shoulder The Burden, Clean Break, and Invocation: Treacherous Crows. Many of these abilities revolve around sacrifice, enabling her to aid other Survivors at the cost of receiving injury or debuff status effects such as Injured and Broken.

“The new DLC for ‘Dead by Daylight: Doomed Course’ costs $7.99. This expansion includes a special Killer item, the Titanium Skull, and a unique Survivor cosmetic called the Gold Tier.
