Rewards Gained Through Enabling Cross Progression
As a seasoned Dead by Daylight player, I must say that the introduction of cross-progression has been nothing short of revolutionary for me! Coming from someone who’s spent countless hours playing on various platforms – PC, console, and mobile – this feature has made my gaming life so much easier to manage.
The cross-progression feature in Dead by Daylight significantly enhances the gaming experience for players who use various platforms. This means that whether you move from a PC to an Xbox, or from a PlayStation to a Nintendo Switch, your earned progress and characters will remain consistent across all devices!
However, there are still many players who are unaware of how to set up and enable cross-progression. This guide will walk you through the steps on how to set it up, explain its handful of limitations, and ensure your progress is successfully linked across all of your platforms.
How to Set Up Cross Progression in Dead by Daylight
As a diehard Dead by Daylight fan, I can tell you that cross-progression was something we’ve been eagerly waiting for, and finally having it is truly exciting! However, I understand if some of us might be scratching our heads about how to activate it. Despite appearing complex at first glance, the process is surprisingly straightforward!
Establishing cross-progression in Dead by Daylight involves connecting your gaming platform accounts with a Behaviour Interactive account, which is quite straightforward.
This account functions as a connector for all your devices, enabling you to move your game progress, characters, and appearance items seamlessly across the platforms that the game supports.
Here is how to set up cross-progression in Dead by Daylight:
- Create or log in to your Behaviour Interactive account.
- Once you’re on your account’s homepage, click on your Game Library.
- From your Library, click on Dead by Daylight from the list of available games.
- Scroll down until you see a button that says “Enable Cross-Progression” and then click on it.
- Select the platform(s) you’d like to link together from the drop-down list.
- Once your preferred platform(s) has been selected, click on the “Continue” button.
- From there, a few consecutive prompts will begin to pop up on the screen. You’ll need to click on the “Start” button, the “Link Account” button, and then finally the “Continue” button at the bottom of each prompt. This will begin the account linking process.
- You will then be prompted to provide your username and password to log into the selected platform’s accounts. Once you’ve entered the correct information, click on the “Sign In” button.
- A few more prompts will pop up. Click on the “Check Status” button, the “Continue” button, the “Next” button, and the “Sync Progress” button at the bottom of each prompt.
- If you’ve done everything correctly, then your accounts should be successfully synced. Click on the “Close” button at the bottom of the final prompt and enjoy your new cross-progressive status!
To enjoy seamless cross-progression, ensure that your game is updated to its most recent version prior to enabling it.
What is Cross Progression and Why is it Important?
In simpler terms, cross-progression in gaming is a useful tool that lets gamers move their game advancements from one device to another. Essentially, this means you can start playing a game on one platform and then resume your progress on another, picking up right where you left off on the initial device.
Activating this function involves connecting your accounts on various platforms, a step taken to prevent any loss of game progress when switching between different devices.
Be mindful while selecting the accounts for synchronization as once the action is executed, it cannot be undone.
All Cross Progression Limitations in Dead by Daylight
As a gamer dabbling in Dead by Daylight on various devices, I’ve found the cross-progression feature quite handy. However, it does have its own set of boundaries that can significantly alter my gaming experience. These constraints are particularly noticeable when managing in-game purchases, currency, and platform-specific content across different platforms.
These restrictions aren’t excessively problematic, but it’s essential to consider them carefully before connecting your profiles.
- Only One Account Per Platform.
- You can link only one account per platform to your Behaviour Interactive account. For example, if you have multiple Steam accounts or multiple profiles on one of your consoles, you’ll only be able to sync one of them to your Behaviour account.
- Paid Currency is Limited on Nintendo Switch.
- Auric Cells cannot be transferred to your Nintendo Switch account. While you can still use Auric Cells on other platforms, any balance on your account won’t be available if you’re playing on a Switch.
- DLC Restrictions on Nintendo Switch.
- Any purchased DLCs (such as killer or survivor content) can be shared from other platforms to the Nintendo Switch. However, the reverse is not true; any DLCs that are bought on the Switch cannot be shared with other platforms.
- Platform-Exclusive Items Cannot Be Shared.
- Certain items and cosmetics are exclusive to specific platforms and won’t transfer over, even with cross-progression enabled. These platform-exclusive items will remain tied to the account on which they were unlocked, so you won’t be able to use them when playing on a different device.
- Achievements and Trophies Cannot Be Shared.
- Achievements and trophies that are earned in-game do not transfer over across platforms. For example, if you unlocked an achievement on PC for Steam, it won’t carry over to your Xbox or PlayStation profile. However, some trophies or achievements might automatically unlock on other platforms if the requirements are met through syncing.
On the Nintendo Switch, you cannot move your Auric Cells and DLCs to different systems, but you can transfer these items from other platforms onto your Nintendo Switch.
Rewards Gained Through Enabling Cross Progression
One advantage of activating cross-progression in Dead by Daylight is not just linking your accounts, but also enjoying other benefits that come along with it.
One of the wonderful benefits players can enjoy by activating cross-progression is receiving the enchanting Campfire Charm. Once you set up cross-progression and synchronize your accounts, you’ll immediately receive this charming trinket as a small thank you for taking advantage of the new system.
Moreover, while it’s not so much a prize but rather a highly practical benefit, players have the advantage of unlocking complimentary badges and awards when they link two of their profiles together.
Even though accomplishments can’t physically transfer, they might become accessible in freshly synchronized accounts under suitable conditions without needing further action.
Instead of relying on others to tell you about the numerous advantages of Dead by Daylight’s eagerly awaited cross-progression function, it’s far more rewarding to personally explore its features and fully appreciate its benefits!
