Dead Island 2 Getting New Game Plus and Horde Mode

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Dead Island 2 has truly become one of my favorite open-world zombie games ever since its release last year. The anticipation for new content, especially the much-awaited Neighborhood Watch mode and the New Game Plus update, is making me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Since its release in April 2023, Dambuster Studios continues to enrich Dead Island 2 with fresh content, focusing on the thrilling zombie-slaying experience. Last year, following over a decade of development, the game was warmly welcomed upon release and swiftly climbed up my list of favorite open-world zombie-themed games.

On October 22nd, the game Dead Island 2 will receive ‘Update Patch 6’, featuring two exciting additions: New Game Plus and an entirely new horde mode titled Neighbourhood Watch.

Long Time Coming

Previously, we brought you exclusive news about Neighborhood Watch, an entirely new gaming experience set to debut in October this year. As previously mentioned, players will be tasked with clearing a neighborhood and safeguarding their base from waves of adversaries. The gameplay occurs over a five-day cycle, starting with a ‘setup phase’ before the enemy attack commences.

Progressing deeper into Neighborhood Watch will unveil novel skills for you, ensuring a unique adventure each time. Additionally, it’ll introduce an array of fresh weapons, costumes, settings, and gaming systems to keep things engaging.

In Patch 6, you’ll encounter a feature called New Game Plus. This exciting addition allows gamers to kick off the Dead Island 2 narrative afresh, but with a twist: your current character will be along for the ride! That means you get to bring all the weapons and abilities you’ve amassed throughout your journey.

Not only is it more gratifying, but Dambuster has also planned additional features such as a higher level limit, fresh weaponry options, a challenging new difficulty setting, and novel zombie character types.
