Fans are consistently blown away by the incredible quality of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. It’s rare for a sequel to match the brilliance of the original, but Gege Akutami has done just that, delivering a continuation that lives up to – and even exceeds – expectations.

Viewers tuning into Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo were eager to learn more about beloved characters like Gojo Satoru, Yuji Itadori, Maki Zenin, and Yuta. However, it’s becoming clear that the series doesn’t need to focus on them to be compelling – their inclusion is a bonus. Creator Gege Akutami hasn’t abandoned these characters, though. In fact, they’ve been gradually reintroducing them into the story, and now Akutami has revealed what happened to Yuji Itadori, the former main character, 68 years after the Shinjuku Showdown.

Yuji Itadori is a central character in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen and a fan favorite. As the character who kicked off the story created by Gege Akutami, Yuji is incredibly well-developed. Even though his part in the main series has concluded, fans still remember and appreciate him.

Takeda said the only time he ever felt truly endangered in a fight was when he fought Yuji Itadori.

Sequels always get fans curious about what happens to their favorite characters, and JJK Modulo is no exception. Many viewers were wondering about Yuji Itadori’s fate, and it’s now been revealed that he is still alive within the story.

The recent JJK Modulo Chapter 7 confirmed that the villain Mahito is still around. He’s currently in a state between life and death, similar to limbo, and appears after someone dies – Sukuna experienced this after the events in Shinjuku. It seems Mahito can’t fully move on until he encounters Yuji Itadori again. When Tsurugi was badly hurt, he almost saw Mahito, who was upset it wasn’t Yuji. Since Mahito is clearly waiting for Yuji, his continued presence suggests Yuji is still alive.

Okay, so things are really pointing towards a showdown between Yuji and Mahito, and honestly, I’m both excited and terrified! It feels like Akutami is definitely building towards Yuji playing a huge part in what’s coming, but that also makes me think… could this be it for him? Yuji’s had a good run, and we’ve already seen characters like Yuta and Maki… well, you know. I have this feeling Akutami won’t shy away from showing us when it happens, and might even use that moment to finally give us the reunion between Yuji and Mahito that everyone’s been waiting for. It’s going to be intense, but I think it’s where the story is headed.
