As a long-time fan of the Dead Rising series, I must admit that the news of Jas Patrick voicing Frank West in the upcoming Deluxe Remaster has left me a bit divided. On one hand, I’ve grown accustomed to TJ Rotolo’s iconic portrayal of our favorite investigative journalist turned zombie slayer. But on the other hand, I’m always open to new interpretations and fresh takes on characters I love.
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that Jas Patrick has been unveiled as the new voice actor for Frank West in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Just like the original game, this remastered version places us back in the shoes of Frank, an intrepid investigative journalist who finds himself in a colossal mall overrun by zombies and other humans – some needing rescue from the undead horde, others posing potential threats to make the precarious situation even more dangerous.
A significant alteration in the remastered version of “Dead Rising Deluxe” is the new voice actor for its primary character, Frank West. Historically, Frank has been voiced by TJ Rotolo across most “Dead Rising” games and appearances in titles like “Marvel Vs. Capcom 3”. Notably, Rotolo played William Birkin in recent “Resident Evil” games. However, he will not be returning to voice Frank West in the upcoming “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster”, a decision that has left some fans of his performance divided.
In a chat with IGN, the creators of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster announced that Jas Patrick will take over the role of photographing using Frank West’s camera in the upcoming game. Many players may recall Patrick as the voice actor for Partitio Yellowil in Octopath Traveler 2, and he has lent his talents to licensed productions such as Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues, Nerf Legends, and LEGO 2K Drive. More recently, he supplied the English voice for Tsunanori Mido, one of the major characters in SaGa: Emerald Beyond.
Jas Patrick Voices Frank West In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
Though many Dead Rising fans recognize TJ Rotolo as the voice behind Frank West, it’s important to note that Frank West was not always voiced by TJ Rotolo. In the 2016 game Dead Rising 4, Ty Olsson provided Frank’s voice instead. Similarly, Peter von Gomm voiced Frank in the 2010 game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, and Scott McNeil lent his voice to Frank in the mobile crossover Puzzle Fighter. In the 2015 live-action movie Dead Rising: Watchtower, retired United States Marine Rob Riggle took on the role of the zombie-slaying journalist, Frank West.
Jas Patrick is set to lend his voice to the character of Frank West in the Dead Rising series, and fans are eagerly anticipating his portrayal of the frequently troubled reporter when the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster returns on September 19. The game’s creators have expressed satisfaction with Patrick’s performance, which may indicate a positive outlook for those who still pine for TJ Rotolo, the original voice of Frank West.
