As a long-time fan of the Dead Rising series, I must admit that the removal of ‘erotica’ points in the upcoming Deluxe Remaster has left me both puzzled and a tad disappointed. It was a unique feature that added a bit of humor to an otherwise intense zombie-slaying experience.
Lovers of the 2006 zombie-filled game, Dead Rising, have expressed some humorously negative reactions to the elimination of ‘erotic’ photo rewards within the game during its remastering. While ‘dismayed’ may be too strong a word, there’s definitely a sense of playful disappointment about the removal of ‘Erotica’ points in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
A recent developer update, initially reported by Famitsu, disclosed that Capcom has chosen to remove rewards for explicit images from the upcoming game scheduled for release on September 19.
Keep It Clean
In 2006, it’s fair to say the game had a somewhat unsettling feel, particularly when capturing images of a female zombie lying on her back, allowing for a glimpse under her dress. This would have added ‘erotica’ points to your photos, increasing their worth. However, such content will no longer be part of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Instead, focus will shift towards more appropriate imagery, with elements like cleavage and suggestive content being eliminated.
Capcom clarified that although taking photos is still a key feature in the game, earning points for suggestive camera angles is no longer part of it.
Anticipation runs high for the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, thanks to numerous enhancements aimed at enhancing user experience, including automatic saving, and a complete overhaul of most parts of the game environment, which is based on a shopping mall setting.
