In response, the director of Deadpool quickly thought of the X-Men. He stated, “I believe that Marvel holds an untapped resource – the entire X-Men universe, which is what initially drew me to comics.” The X-Men have been a stepping stone into superhero comics for numerous individuals since their 1963 introduction, and Miller appears well-versed in this area, even having a particular vision for an X-Men film that potentially could have been produced under Fox’s management.

Subsequently, Miller found himself as a creative team member on high-profile Hollywood productions such as “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” His career reached new heights when he served as a second unit director on “Thor: The Dark World” in 2013.

Miller then stepped into the director’s chair for “Deadpool” in 2016, opening up a world of opportunities ever since. He has since contributed to projects like “Terminator: Dark Fate,” “Borderlands,” and all three installments of the “Sonic the Hedgehog” series.

Despite having worked on Marvel productions like Deadpool and Thor: The Dark World, it’s uncertain whether Feige will entrust Miller with an X-Men film, given his recent projects. For instance, Terminator: Dark Fate, released in 2019, is said to have incurred losses exceeding $100 million at the box office. Moreover, Miller directed the reshoots for the Borderlands movie, and we’re all familiar with the outcome of that project. His proposed X-Men concept, inspired by 1981’s X-Men #143, seemed to revolve around Kitty Pryde spending Christmas at home beset by a demon. This idea might not be the ideal gateway into the MCU, despite potentially offering an entertaining experience.

By the close of the day, should Kevin Feige decide to entrust Tim Miller with directing an X-Men film within the MCU, he’ll undoubtedly be keeping a vigil by his phone.
