Deadpool Officially Joins Avengers Campus at Disneyland

As a long-time Marvel fan and Disneyland enthusiast, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Deadpool would be making his debut at Disneyland California Adventure and Disneyland Paris! Growing up, I’ve always been a huge fan of the Merc with a Mouth, and watching him come to life on the big screen through Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal was an experience in itself. When the news broke that Disney had acquired the rights to the Deadpool franchise and confirmed that he would be allowed to keep his R-rated humor, I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that my favorite antihero would remain true to his comic book roots.

Starting July 26, Deadpool will make a personal appearance at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland and Disneyland Paris’s Avengers Campus for anlimited time, with Disney making this exciting announcement as the third installment of the Deadpool franchise approaches release.

Deadpool, a famous character from Marvel Comics, is recognized for his frequent use of strong language, sexual references, and crude humor. When 20th Century Fox chose to turn these comic book tales into movies with Ryan Reynolds in the lead role, they opted to maintain the R rating for this endearing antihero, resulting in two films in the Deadpool series. In 2019, Disney obtained ownership of Fox and its assets, including Deadpool, causing concern among fans about potential changes to R-rated superhero movies. Fortunately, Disney announced that Deadpool would not only retain his mature ratings but would also join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and other X-Men characters in the upcoming third film.

Starting July 26, 2024, Disney revealed that Deadpool and Wolverine will make a special appearance at two of their parks: Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris. Fans received the news through Disney’s social media channels, as confirmed meetings with Deadpool were announced for limited durations starting on July 26 for California Adventure and July 24 for Paris. This is an thrilling development as it marks the first opportunity for fans to interact with Deadpool in person! Furthermore, Disney Parks Twitter account clarified that the film “Deadpool & Wolverine” remains rated R.

Deadpool Officially Joins Disneyland Avengers

During the summer, Disneyland California provides affordable ticket prices, making it an ideal moment to plan a visit to the first Disney park. At present, Disneyland California and Disneyland Paris are the sole Disney parks showcasing Avengers Campus and Marvel or MCU characters. Although there have been rumors and anticipation for years about introducing Marvel in other parks, Disney has not yet announced any definitive plans or indications that visitors at those parks will encounter their beloved superheroes soon. Thus, the opportunity to interact with Deadpool and others may be a tempting reason for some travelers to explore these particular parks.

Visitors planning a trip to Disneyland California Resort should keep in mind that there are ongoing labor talks between Disneyland employees (or “cast members”) and Disney management. If an agreement isn’t reached soon, the union may call for a strike, which could potentially disrupt travel plans for those intending to visit the California park.

As a long-time fan of Marvel Comics and theme parks, I’m thrilled to hear that Deadpool is set to make an appearance at the parks for a limited time. Having grown up reading Deadpool comics and watching him come to life on the big screen, I can only imagine the excitement of meeting this iconic anti-hero in person.
