8 A New Wolverine

Henry Cavill Becomes The Cavillerine

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

When Wade Wilson travels between universes, a series of encounters with various versions of Wolverine unfolds. Although many are portrayed by Hugh Jackman, some distinctive alternatives are worth mentioning. Deadpool comes across Wolverine’s “Patch” persona, a comics-true 5’3″ Wolverine, a crucified Wolverine from Uncanny X-Men #251, and even the iconic John Byrne Wolverine dressed in a yellow and brown suit preparing to battle the Hulk.

Despite the existence of numerous Wolverines over the past 24 years, one newcomer manages to distinguish himself in this iconic role. For the initial time, Henry Cavill dons the claws and brings a fresh take on the character. In an unexpected turn of events, Cavill makes a delightful appearance with a subtle jab at DC’s handling of their previous Superman portrayer. His cameo might be brief, but it leaves quite an impression – particularly when he mimics the arm-reloading technique from Mission Impossible: Fallout.

7 Earth-616

The Official Name Of The MCU Is The Official Name Of The Comics

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

In the opening scene of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” we find Wade making a brief journey to what’s called the Sacred Timeline or Earth-616 in the movie. This designation holds significance because it represents the primary universe in the comics, serving as the foundation for all other stories. However, this concept could be debatable within the context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as it may diminish the importance of the comic version of Earth-616.

As a gamer, I’d put it this way: In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Deadpool and Wolverine’s timeline is labeled as 616. This means that their comic book counterparts might not exist in this multiverse. The lore between these two universes seems to have cracks, and the comic-accurate representation isn’t entirely consistent. Nevertheless, I’m thrilled to see the “616” label make an appearance.

6 The Deadpool Corps

Multiverse Deadpool Variants Form A Merc Corps

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

As a huge fan, I can’t help but roll my eyes at the endless and irritating horde of Deadpools that populate the multiverse. Donning their iconic red suits, they each bring their unique twist to the table as alternate-reality mercenaries. Given Deadpool’s knack for intentional annoyance, it comes as no shock that we have an overabundance of them. From the quirky Dogpool and mischievous Kidpool to the serious Nicepool and enigmatic Headpool, each Deadpool adds flavor to the mix, even if not all of them are actively contributing.

As a longtime fan of Deadpool, I can’t help but be excited about the endless possibilities of this merciless anti-hero’s multiverse counterparts. Despite the fact that some of these versions celebrate their mayhem through bloodshed, limb detachment, and gut-wrenching scenes, I find myself drawn to their unique takes on the Deadpool persona.

5 Rest in Peace Daredevil

Daredevil, Magneto, And The Punisher Did Not Survive The Void

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

Survivors from the Void encounter Deadpool and Wolverine, who were being held captive by Cassandra Nova with the intention of enslaving them. The survivors share sad news about other fallen heroes. Among those mentioned are Magneto, Professor X, and the Punisher, who were reportedly killed. However, the mention of Daredevil, who would have been portrayed by Ben Affleck in the DCEU as Batman, leaves a significant impact on the conversation.

As a longtime fan of both Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, I must admit that I found the recent joke about their past marriage in “Deadpool 3” rather disappointing. Having grown up watching them together on screen, it’s disheartening to see their relationship used as a punchline.

4 An Ode To 20th Century Fox

Meta Jokes And Commentary Are Made About Deadpool’s Former IP Handlers

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

After being thrown into the emptiness, Deadpool and Wolverine clash against one another, with the discarded 20th Century Fox emblem lying in the ground between them as a quirky prop. However, this seemingly humorous detail also symbolizes and serves as a poignant reminder of the fading past and buried history of 20th Century Fox. Now that Disney has taken over the company, renowned characters such as X-Men and Fantastic Four are part of its new lineage.

Finding the 20th Century Fox emblem imprinted in the ground is an amusing observation. It symbolizes the transformation of the studio, now known as 20th Century Studios, having moved on from its previous identity as Fox. This humorous remark also reflects the excitement of fans as they bid farewell to the Fox universe of Marvel movies and welcome the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on these beloved characters.

3 A Cowl 20 Years In The Making

Hugh Jackman Finally Wears The Wolverine Cowl

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

As a huge fan, I was thrilled towards the end of the movie when Hugh Jackman appeared in his yellow Wolverine suit, a more comic-accurate version than the usual black leather. But something felt amiss. Hugh Jackman’s good looks couldn’t make up for the absence of his signature sharp cowl and white lenses. Fortunately, during the intense battle against the Deadpool Corps, the iconic cowl made its appearance on Hugh Jackman once again.

For the first time on screen, the unique Wolverine character dons the famous cowl in a live-action production. This milestone comes after a waiting period of 24 years, allowing for comic authenticity to finally shine through. The sight of this cowl is surprisingly thrilling, and a long-awaited treat for fans who have been eager since spotting the black leather in the early 2000s “X-Men” film.

2 Classic Cameos

The Marvel Universe Expands Past The MCU

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

For fans of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” the anticipation runs high, as trailers have promised a feast of cameos. Yet, there are still unexpected treats in store for even the most seasoned Marvel Universe followers. The inclusion of Wesley Snipes’ Blade and Chris Evans’ Human Torch adds to the thrill that longtime fans can scarcely contain.

In Deadpool and Wolverine’s upcoming appearances, you’ll encounter numerous unexpected guest stars. Blade and the Human Torch are merely the beginning; there are many more exciting surprises to come. These cameos aren’t random additions meant solely for audience excitement – they contribute significantly to the storyline.

1 The Fantasti-Car

The Fantastic Four’s Iconic Vehicle Roams The Void

Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Easter Eggs

As you gaze into the void on your journey, spectators may recognize a futuristic vehicle with the number 4 emblazoned on its hood. This levitating conveyance is none other than the Fantasti-Car, designed by Reed Richards as the Fantastic Four’s mode of transportation for their global escapades, filled with marvelous adventures to protect our world.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but draw attention to the often overlooked Fantasti-Car. For those in the know, its unique design is unmistakable. The fact that this vehicle has made appearances in the Fantastic Four’s adventures confirms their visits to the enigmatic Void. However, the similarities between their experiences and Johnny Storm’s ultimate fate remain a mystery.
