On May 29, Kojima Productions delighted fans of “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” by disclosing that Hololive VTuber Usada Pekora will appear in the game as a Prepper Non-Player Character (NPC) that players may interact with. The incorporation of Pekora in the forthcoming “Death Stranding 2” mirrors the approach taken in the original “Death Stranding” game, which included celebrity appearances through minor NPC roles.

Approximately three weeks ago, Kojima Productions revealed that Pekora would make an appearance in the upcoming sequel of “Death Stranding,” which they had previously announced had been completed for release on June 26. Even though the main development for “Death Stranding 2” has wrapped up, it’s expected to still receive post-launch updates to fix any potential issues that may arise once the game is out. Additionally, Kojima Productions confirmed the production of an anime adaptation of the original “Death Stranding,” and a live-action film adaptation by A24, as per Hideo Kojima, the game’s director.

Kojima Productions announced on social media that virtual YouTuber Usada Pekora will be featured in “Death Stranding 2”. In a brief gameplay video, her voice can be heard from a projector after the protagonist, Sam, leaves a storage container. The camera subsequently pans to the source of the voice. Sam expresses gratitude towards Pekora, who reciprocates and bows as she departs. While details about Pekora’s in-game role are scarce, it is confirmed that she will be a Non-Player Character (NPC) called a Prepper in “Death Stranding 2”.
