The latest update for “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” is out now on PlayStation 5, resolving an annoying camera problem and tackling some other glitches. Launched in June, nearly six years after its predecessor, “Death Stranding 2” has been a success among both players and critics, and Kojima Productions are still refining the unique action-adventure game.
2025’s critically acclaimed gem, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, has me absolutely thrilled! This sequel to the original masterpiece has been praised for its enhancements and the stellar acting talent it boasts, not to mention its gripping narrative. The storyline picks up in Australia a year after the events of Death Stranding, where I once again step into the boots of Sam Porter Bridges on his mission to reconnect our world and save humanity from extinction. Hideo Kojima’s genius continues to enthrall me, and while the game was mostly bug-free at launch, a fresh patch has been released to iron out one major issue. I can hardly wait to delve back in!
Kojima Productions has made a new update available for players of Death Stranding 2 on PS5, which upgrades the game to Version 1.08. This update isn’t packed with significant changes or new content, but it does resolve an ongoing issue that has been affecting numerous users. The August 7 update specifically tackles a problem where the camera and environment would jerk during movement, making the visually stunning Death Stranding 2 smoother and easier on the eyes. Although the patch notes don’t provide details, other minor fixes and enhancements have also been incorporated within this update.
During a late July interview, Kojima expressed that Death Stranding 2 would likely be met with controversy, as players might either adore it or strongly dislike it. Known for his divisive approach, the creator often prioritizes artistic expression over broad appeal. Embracing criticism, Kojima affirmed his unwavering convictions, acknowledging that taking risks is essential when creating games capable of making a significant cultural impression.
At present, Kojima Productions is working on two upcoming projects: a chilling horror game named “OD”, and a secretive stealth action title called “Physint”. While details about Physint are scarce, recent updates have provided some insights into OD. It appears that this game will be an exclusive for Xbox platforms, and it’s being jointly scripted by Jordan Peele. Although the specific type of horror experience offered by OD is yet to be fully revealed, many Kojima enthusiasts are bracing themselves for a truly unsettling journey.
