Beyond the event panel, Kojima Productions plans to open a special temporary store during SXSW as well. This pop-up shop will showcase goods related to Death Stranding 2, along with unique items that can only be purchased at this particular event. Further details about these offerings will be unveiled at a later time.
Death Stranding 2: On the Shore – The follow-up to the 2019 game developed by Hideo Kojima is on its way. Expected to release this year, it will be available exclusively for the PS5. In a nutshell, DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH explores a moving narrative of human connection beyond the United Cities and States Alliance. The protagonist, Sam, embarks on another adventure with his allies, aiming to prevent humanity’s extinction. Accompany them as they navigate a world filled with otherworldly threats, challenges, and the poignant question: was our connection worth it?
Besides Norman Reedus returning as Sam Porter, he’ll also be working alongside Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and the renowned movie director George Miller.
Last week, the game received a rating in South Korea, hinting that a release date announcement may soon follow. Given that a new State of Play is scheduled for tomorrow, it’s possible that they might announce something related to it during the event.
