As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion, has me absolutely thrilled! Having grown up on the original Alien movies and playing countless hours of Alien-themed games over the years, this new foray into virtual reality promises to be a terrifying and exhilarating experience.
Enthusiasts of the legendary “Alien” franchise are excited about an upcoming addition, as the series embarks on its inaugural venture into virtual reality with “Alien: Rogue Incursion”. This groundbreaking game is slated for release on December 19th, and pre-orders are now available. For dedicated “Alien” followers, this presents an opportunity to snag unique in-game items and reserve their copy for the PSVR 2, Meta Quest 3, or Steam VR platform.
The Alien series has had several successful video game adaptations over time, including the highly praised survival horror game Alien: Isolation. On the other hand, the third-person shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines, didn’t receive a warm welcome from fans. However, in 2024, the series is experiencing a significant comeback with the launch of Alien: Romulus on August 16 and its first virtual reality horror game set to follow shortly after.
The game developer Survios has been releasing trailers on YouTube, giving us a sneak peek into different features of the game, including the Xenomorphs, an array of player weapons like motion tracker, revolver, shotgun, and pulse rifle, and the main character in the game. Alien: Rogue Incursion is a nerve-wracking first-person action game where you engage in fierce battles against terrifying Xenomorphs, employing an assortment of weapons and equipment to combat the ominous alien menace.
Alien: Rogue Incursion Throws Players Into Battle Against the Xenomorphs
In this game, you’ll assume the role of Zula Hendricks, a former Colonial Marine who debuted in the Marvel-published comic books Aliens: Defiance. Notably, Andia Winslow, an Emmy winner and voice actress for titles like League of Legends and Starfield, will bring Zula to life. This game is a production of Survios, a renowned VR developer known for their work on other VR games such as The Walking Dead: Onslaught and Creed: Rise to Glory. They’re working in partnership with 20th Century Games.
Instead of Alien: Isolation emphasizing stealth and evading the Xenomorphs at any cost, Rogue Incursion encourages players to confront these creatures head-on using their weapons. The Xenomorphs in this game will pursue players from out of sight, attempting to dodge attacks and bullets, constantly posing a threat throughout the gameplay.
As a diehard gamer, I’m super excited about the launch of Alien: Rogue Incursion! There are two versions available at the get-go – the Standard Edition for $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition for $49.99, which comes with some snazzy blue camo cosmetics.
