To begin the Deferred Advance quest, you need to ride the Dragon and free Fort Musket by destroying its three main power cores. These cores control massive cannons that can quickly defeat Blackstar and Kliff, so it’s important to understand how to complete this quest successfully.
Here’s a guide with clear steps to help you succeed on this mission. We’ve included a video walkthrough showing you exactly how to destroy all three Musket Ultimate Weapon Cores without getting defeated.
It’s really challenging to use Deferred Advance because Musket Ultimate Weapons do a lot of damage. We strongly suggest building Abyssal Fusion (Dragon Armor) first – you can find a guide on how to do that here.
How to Destroy All 3 Musket Ultimate Weapon Cores in Crimson Desert
- You should always start with the Musket Ultimate Weapon in the west region, noted for its Gatling gun cannon fire.
- Take out the blimps in the west region first, but don’t fly to the middle or the east so you don’t trigger the other Musket Ultimate Weapons.
- Strafe left and right of the mountains until the Gatling gun is forced to recharge.
- While the Gatling gun recharges, spam R1 to use Fireballs at the Gatling gun.
- When the Gatling gun rises to fire again, strafe across the mountain and repeat the process until this one falls.
- The next Musket Ultimate Weapon target should be the one in the middle, noted for being on the highest elevation.
- You should be using the mountain that the Musket Ultimate Weapon is sitting on as cover to avoid the missiles from the third Musket Ultimate Weapon.
- Use the open area from the first Musket Ultimate Weapon, and use barrel rolls (Circle/B, Circle/B) to avoid the missiles fired.
- Use Fireballs (R1) on the Musket Ultimate Weapon’s core, which is the glowing orange parts underneath the weapon itself.
- Our tactic is to stay behind the mountain, strafe left and right, and spam Fireballs until the Musket Ultimate Weapon explodes.
- The third Musket Ultimate Weapon is in the east, and it’s by far the most deadly, but also the easiest to destroy.
- First, take out the remaining blimps so it’s just you and the final Musket Ultimate Weapon.
- This Musket Ultimate Weapon will fire a volley of three explosives in a line, which deal immense damage.
- Strafe left or right and double tap Circle/B to barrel roll as soon as you see the shot leave the barrel.
- Between barrages, spam Fireball (R1) at the turret or the orange core to deal damage until it explodes.
If your dragon reappears with damaged health, we suggest ending the mission on the game over screen by selecting “Give Up” (Square/X). This will trigger a 50-minute cooldown for your dragon, but it will fully restore its health when it returns.
