Fans of “My Hero Academia” were dismayed when Izuku Midoriya lost his quirk at the end of the Final War, which came as quite a surprise for many. Yet, creator Horikoshi didn’t want to leave fans feeling dejected for long. Despite Deku losing his quirk, Horikoshi had thought ahead and devised a way for him to regain his strength, one that he had previously set up in the storyline itself.

Through the assistance of Bakugo and his fellow Class 1-A students, Deku ultimately obtained a Hero armor. This suit, as stated by its creator Horikoshi himself, is extraordinarily powerful, significantly enhancing Deku’s strength compared to his previous level.

Though he didn’t initially bear the title after the embers of One For All flickered out, destiny had a different plan for him. This very year, he was bestowed with the armor, making it official: Deku has finally joined the ranks of the brave and noble heroes in our story!

Notably, Deku is progressing rapidly within the storyline. Initially, he was ranked in the double digits among Heroes, but his rapid ascent has moved him up the Hero Rankings to secure the Number 4 spot. Essentially, this places him alongside characters like Shoto Todoroki and Bakugo in competitive terms. The Hero positions aren’t merely symbolic; their proximity suggests they are roughly equal in power. Interestingly, Deku is relatively new to the Hero scene compared to his counterparts who have been active for a longer period.

Essentially, Shoto and Bakugo, who have likely become much more powerful than they were during the Final War, serve as a useful standard to measure Deku’s strength against. Moreover, Horikoshi has hinted that Deku’s new suit possesses the abilities of the One For All, as he stated: “Shoto and Bakugo are excellent indicators of Deku’s growth in power, given their enhanced abilities post-Final War. Additionally, it’s been disclosed that Deku’s new suit incorporates the powers of the One For All.

Horikoshi explains that this gadget attempts to replicate several powers from the OFA, such as its extension cables which behave similarly to Black Whip, one of his abilities. Additionally, it acts as a testing ground for him to experiment with combining different abilities.

Deku Will Keep Growing Stronger

According to Horikoshi himself, technology in the series isn’t just confined to supporting gear anymore; it’s a force in its own right and is rapidly expanding. This can only imply one thing: Deku is swiftly advancing through the ranks and may ultimately secure the Number One position. As time goes on, Deku will likely become even stronger than he was during the war. From any perspective, fans can see that Deku is destined to be much stronger without One For All than with it.
