Delta Force Pay-to-Win Elements Will ‘Absolutely Not’ Be a Thing

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Delta Force: Hawk Ops has caught my attention with its promising start. The developers have shown a keen understanding of what gamers want – engaging gameplay, well-designed maps, and a solid loop that keeps us coming back for more.

In a recent AMA on Reddit, Delta Force: Hawk Ops’ development team answered some key and pressing questions about the future of the free-to-play shooter. It recently launched into an alpha phase and, by all accounts, has been turning heads simply because it plays so nicely.

At first glance, it appears to be a clone of Battlefield, but upon closer inspection, it offers an array of weapons, meticulously crafted maps, and a gameplay experience that keeps you hooked for quite some time. A topic of interest among potential fans has been the future of microtransactions in Delta Force, which the developer was prompt to clarify.

A Clear Standard

In a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, MP1st uncovered, Team Jade’s representative ‘ShadowGuo’ addressed concerns about ‘pay-to-win’ elements in Delta Force: Hawk Ops. When queried if players could swap real-world currency for game items deemed as pay-to-win, the developer clarified:

In clear terms, we guarantee that this situation won’t arise whatsoever, as it’s a firm rule we’ve established for our game. The major items we provide for players to buy are weapon skins, character aesthetics, and battle passes. Our major Havoc Warfare mode excludes any pay-to-win aspects. Moreover, we ensure that Tekniq Alloy and equipment in Hazard Ops will never be available for sale. Instead, they can only be acquired through gameplay, joining events, or trading with other players on the auction house.

Additionally, they highlighted that all ‘multiplayer features’ can be enjoyed at no cost, ensuring there are no barriers preventing access due to payment.

As a longtime gamer with a soft spot for tactical shooters and MMOs, I can’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment when companies like Battlestate Games and MoreFun Studios take the route of locking content behind paywalls or implementing pay-to-win mechanics.

During the Reddit AMA session, various topics were discussed by the team. They hinted at a potential modification of the game’s title based on community suggestions, improvements in the audio features are underway as the alpha version progresses, and they aim to release new in-game ‘seasons’ every two to three months.
