Anticipation for the release of Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune is building, as fans have been eagerly waiting for quite some time to uncover the answers that have puzzled them since finishing Chapter 2. Here’s hoping Toby Fox will rise from his canine slumber and shed light on the enigmas surrounding Deltarune.
Unlike Undertale, which was initially released as a full game, Deltarune is being rolled out in multiple instalments, and the exact number of these segments remains undetermined at this time, with fans anticipating it may reach seven. So far, two chapters of Deltarune have been made available for free, while the upcoming pair will be offered together as a paid package.
Toby Fox has announced that Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 will be released in 2025, and his frequent updates hint that we’re getting closer to the launch. As these chapters approach, let’s ponder again about the enigmas yet to be resolved.
10. What’s The Deal With Father Alvin?
The Priest Has Something To Hide
In the world of Deltarune’s Light Side, Father Alvin could be the most enigmatic figure. Although he often blends into the backdrop, subtle clues suggest that his part in the narrative might be far greater than what initially meets the eye.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but notice that the enigmatic sketch labeled with his name in the classroom post-Kris and Susie’s return to the Light World, his cryptic remarks during his visits to his father’s grave, and the consistent mentions of the Boom family’s significance in Deltarune subtly place Father Alvin among the most significant characters introduced thus far. He may seem quiet, but his presence is undeniably impactful.
Reverend Alvin is among the top-tier candidates vying for the title of Roaring Knight, comparable to Kris. If he’s as crucial as the game implies, it’s high time we see the clues come to fruition in Chapters 3 and 4.
9. What’s The Purpose Of The Shadow Crystals?
Players Need A Better Reward For Beating The Bonus Bosses

In Deltarune, there are two extra bosses that become available after the main story has ended: Jevil in Chapter 1 and Spamton Neo in Chapter 2. Overcoming each of them grants the player a Shadow Crystal. These crystals can then be displayed to Seam for insights into their significance.
At this point, Shadow Crystals seem to be without function within the game. However, there’s speculation that players may acquire more of them from extra bosses in Chapters 3 and 4, potentially revealing their purpose later on.
What’s the deal with these Shadow Crystals? Given that they are connected to some of the most challenging battles in the game, it seems they hold significant value. However, if a player skips collecting them throughout the story, what will happen when Deltarune Chapter 3 and 4 unfold? The importance of the Shadow Crystals needs to be made clear during these chapters.
8. What Happened To Berdly In The Weird Route?
Did The Bird Survive Snowgrave?

In an unexpected twist, despite the game’s premise suggesting that individual choices wouldn’t significantly impact the story, Chapter 2 of Deltarune concluded with a dramatically different narrative path. Most players found Berdly carrying on as usual, seemingly unaffected by his journeys in the Dark World.
In contrast, if a player chooses the peculiar or Snowgrave Route, where Kris instructs Ness to apparently slay Berdly, it’s unclear whether he revives in the Radiant Realm, as the game leaves his destiny open-ended.
When the Dark World version of Berdly was struck by the spell, did it result in Berdly’s death in the Light World? How will Chapters 3 and 4 address this significant change in storylines, given that fans have been eagerly awaiting clarification on Berdly’s fate for a long time, as he is a cherished character?
7. What’s Going On In Susie’s Home Life?
Susie’s Story Might Be The Saddest In Deltarune

Initially, the first two installments of Deltarune provide clues about Susie’s domestic situation beyond her escapades with the primary storyline. These hints are not cheerful, suggesting that Susie is grappling with troublesome issues, which help shed light on some of the events we’ve witnessed thus far.
Some spectators speculate that Susie’s unrefined looks and ability to eat various items, even chalk, hint at a humble past she’s concealing. This background seems to contradict the cheerful image of Hometown she presents.
If Chapter 3 heavily focuses on Toriel, it might provide us with additional insights, given their friendly relationship at the close of Chapter 2. Since Susie admires Toriel greatly from their first encounter, this could offer a chance to delve deeper into Toriel’s past.
6. Why Hasn’t Papyrus Appeared Yet?
It’s Time To Trousle Some Bones

In the debut of Deltarune Chapter 1, enthusiasts were thrilled to encounter Papyrus, Sans’ endearing yet clueless sibling. However, a slight disappointment surfaced as he failed to make an appearance. But hey, it’s not a major issue, correct? Given that Chapter 1 was incredibly brief, it seems logical that there simply wasn’t enough time to present him appropriately.
Afterwards, it was Chapter 2, but there was still no sign of the Papyrus character, even though Sans mentioned his younger sibling and promised the player a future encounter with him.
It seems that Fox has been reluctant to reveal the Deltarune version of Papyrus to fans. Given that numerous Undertale characters appear in Hometown, one might expect Papyrus to have been incorporated into the story during Chapter 2. However, it’s clear that Papyrus is being reserved for something significant, but the specifics remain unclear.
5. What’s Happening With Dess Holiday?
The Mystery Of Noelle’s Sister Needs To Be Solved

Noelle’s vanished sister remains one of the most intriguing unsolved cases in Deltarune. Despite being mentioned only sparingly within the game, her appearance in the Spamton Sweepstakes has sparked speculation among fans that she could be significant to future events.
The situation with Dess remains unclear. It’s unknown whether she has passed away or simply disappeared. Some speculate that the cryptic message discovered in the Deltarune files could be related to Dess, and perhaps she is somehow stuck within the game itself.
It can be vexing that Dess doesn’t seem crucial to the story at first glance, but it serves as an intriguing enigma for dedicated fans. In any case, in Chapters 3 and 4, readers will find out more about Dess, helping them determine if she plays a significant role in the narrative.
4. What’s The Deal With Onion’s Song?
Is The Song Of The Water Really Important?

In the world of Deltarune, Onion, or whatever name the player has chosen for them, serves as a frustrating character due to their repeated encouragements for Kris to return the following day, revealing further hidden details.
In Chapter 1, they can convey to Kris that there’s something confidential they need to share with them the following day. If the character reappears in Chapter 2 and behaves as if they’re friends with Onion, they’ll mention they’ve been hearing a melody at night, one reminiscent of the sea, and claim it’s not a recently composed tune. Yet again, Onion will encourage Kris to come back tomorrow.
In essence, could you explain more about the song and its relevance to the narrative of Deltarune? Is there any link between this tune and the Dark Fountains? Why does the water beast continually hint at hidden mysteries towards the player?
3. Who are Mike, C, Tenna, and Pluey?
Deltarune Needs Faces For Names

In Deltarune, there are several characters who haven’t been introduced yet. During the interactions with Spamton in Chapter 2, he frequently mentions a character named “Mike.” Fans believe that “Mike” could be the smiling face on the TV screen at the end of the chapter, but this connection remains unconfirmed.
It seems that Character C might be the landlord of Asgore, identified solely by their initial. Some fans conjecture this person could be Noelle’s mother, possibly named after holiday celebrations such as Carol or Christmas. However, it’s also possible that this character is an entirely new figure who could play a significant role if Asgore’s part is expanded in future installments.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got some exciting news! In a recent BlueSky post by Toby Fox, two new characters were casually dropped – Tenna and Pluey. The details about these guys are scarce at the moment, but they’re set to appear in Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. Now, knowing Toby’s knack for one-liners and quirky NPCs, I can only imagine that these two will bring a chuckle or two. But, as always, we’ll just have to wait and see what surprises he has in store for us!
2. What’s The Deal With The Egg?
Who Is Giving Out The Free Eggs?

In the game Deltarune, there are two instances where the player can discover a concealed tree with a cryptic figure standing behind it. This figure offers Kris an Egg, but these meetings are difficult to stumble upon and the eggs serve no specific purpose other than engaging in peculiar self-duplicating interactions.
Similar to the enigmatic Shadow Crystals, it’s uncertain if the eggs will impact the narrative, or if collecting them will offer any benefits to the player. Their extreme concealment implies that they hold significance or are connected to a character not yet introduced in the story.
Instead, it seems that Fox might be pulling a prank by stirring up excitement among the fans about insignificant trinkets. One may question, though, just how crucial could eggs actually be?
1. Is Kris The Roaring Knight?
The Evidence Is Piling Up

In Chapter 2, we were left hanging with a significant suspense: Kris appears to have unlocked a Dark Fountain. This event brings up intriguing questions about whether Kris has been the character known as the Roaring Knight throughout, or if they’ve been acting on their own, without the influence of SOUL, and thus responsible for all the events unfolding within the game.
Is it likely that Fox would disclose the secret of the Roaring Knight so quickly in the narrative? There seems to be a lot more depth to this story than what initially appears. At this point, we don’t know who activated the earlier Dark Fountains, and the player is playing as Kris when they are pulled into them.
There’s mounting speculation that Kris might be the Roaring Knight, however, other potential candidates like Father Alvin remain in the picture, making this one of Deltarune’s most intriguing enigmas. With Kris’ recent involvement in unlocking the Dark Fountain, we can expect to uncover more details about this mystery in the upcoming part of the story.
