Demon Of Pride Secret Boss Location In Nioh 3

The Warring States is the first area players will explore in Nioh 3. It’s full of secrets and hidden mysteries, including a challenging secret boss with specific requirements to unlock. You don’t have to fight this boss right away – you might be too weak! Here’s how to find the Warring States secret boss in Nioh 3.

This article reveals details about upcoming quests and boss battles in Nioh 3, so be warned – spoilers ahead!

Warring States Secret Boss Location In Nioh 3

You can fight the secret boss in the Warring States area, the Demon of Pride, after first completing a quest in the Heian Era.

After finishing the quest and getting the Kurama Tengu Guardian Spirit, return to the Warring States region and teleport to the Sengan Waterfall Shrine, which is southeast of the Roytan Temple.

The gold box on the map marks where you’ll find the Demon of Pride. Fly to that location using the Spirit Veins between the rocks to gain some height. Then, follow the Kunimatsu shadow near the waterfalls to make the Demon appear. You’ll recognize the boss by its blue wings and long, peacock-like tail – a fitting look for such a proud creature.

Beating this tough boss will really test your skills and patience. He mainly attacks from a distance, dealing a lot of water damage. Occasionally, he’ll come closer to attack with his fans and a powerful stomp.

Focus on a Ninja build to fully utilize the three Ninjutsu slots for long-range weapons. Also, boosting your Magic stat will open up more Yin Positions in the Shrine’s Soul Core, letting you equip more Onmyo Magic Items. These items can weaken the Demon of Pride, giving you an edge in battle and increasing your healing potential.

For Samurai, focus on skills like Indomitable Spirit (it helps you regain Ki faster when low on health), Recoup, and Unshakable. If you’re playing as Ninja, Supreme Shift is very useful—it lets you quickly move behind the boss after a successful Burst Break when switching styles. Dodging and the Snakebite Technique are also strong choices, especially since Snakebite boosts damage as you attack repeatedly. Don’t forget about equipment! Look for pieces that offer water resistance to save on using your water-resistant talismans.

Beating the Demon of Pride gives you a large amount of Amrita and new equipment. You’ll also unlock the powerful Transformed Art, “Death From Above Water.” Talking to the ghost will trigger a cutscene that reveals more about Kunimatsu’s feelings for his older sibling – you.

How To Get The Kurama Tengu Guardian Spirit

The Kurama Tengu is a relic from the Heian period that lets you temporarily fly and reach higher places with a boosted jump.

Finish the main quest ‘Sacred Mountain Defiled’ in Nioh 3 by exploring Mount Kurama and defeating the Tengu boss. Doing so will unlock the Kurama Tengu Guardian Spirit.
