Movie Title Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Infinity Castle (Part 1/Akaza Returns)
Chapters Covered 140–157

As per fans’ perspective and chronology from the manga, the initial film depicts Shinobu Kocho engaging in a fatal struggle against Doma, while Zenitsu Agatsuma quickly overpowers Kaigaku at the movie’s outset. The main event is the exhilarating battle between Tanjiro Kamado, Giyu Tomioka, and Akaza. Fans vividly recall Tanjiro’s unfinished business with Akaza from the Mugen Train Arc, while Giyu also has his own backstory connected to the demon.

Beyond the fight scene, the film delves into Akaza’s heartrending past and explains why he transformed into a demon. According to responses on social media, the film expanded significantly on the manga, providing a moving portrayal of Akaza’s background. This emotional episode has made Akaza one of the most beloved demons among fans due to his history.

Rengoku Was Finally Avenged

Although Akaza’s tragic background touched many hearts, it hasn’t erased the memory of his past actions, such as slaying the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, during the Mugen Train arc. This significant event marked a crucial point in Tanjiro’s transformation and served as the turning point in his journey as a Demon Slayer; from this moment on, there was no going back for him.

In a fiercely acclaimed anime fight by Japanese audiences, Tanjiro managed to avenge his friend’s death, finding resolution in this tragic situation. Regrettably, both Tanjiro and Giyu end up gravely wounded at the conclusion of the film, implying they will be absent or recuperating for much of the second movie.

Inosuke’s Relation to Doma Will Leave Fans Broken in the Second Movie

  • Inosuke and Doma’s relationship will be revealed in the second movie.
  • Inosuke’s backstory will make fans cry.

Shinobu perished at the start of the film, yet she managed to poison Doma prior, an event that will significantly impact the sequel, possibly delving into him and potentially Kokushibo. As for Kanao Tsuyuri, she showed up just before her foster sister’s demise. Inosuke Hashibira is set to join her, and he too seems destined to play a pivotal role in the sequel, sparking anticipation among fans. His past is likely to be as emotionally stirring as Akaza’s, with connections to Doma.

It appears you might be under a misunderstanding. In our current world, neither heaven nor hell are tangible realities. These concepts, it seems, are more of human inventions or beliefs rather than actual places. The truth often seems to be that even virtuous individuals can encounter hardships, while some who act unjustly may seem to prosper unfettered.

— Doma

As a baby, Inosuke’s mother, Kotoha Hashibira, fled from her abusive husband due to harsh circumstances. She eventually sought refuge in the deadly cult led by Doma at Eternal Paradise Faith. Unaware of this, Doma later killed Kotoha’s husband and mother-in-law when they joined the cult searching for her. Although he took a liking to Kotoha, Doma decided not to consume her. However, she eventually discovered that Doma consumed his followers and managed to escape the cult. In fear, Doma pursued her but ended up killing her instead. Before this tragic event, Kotoha abandoned her son off a cliff in hope of survival, which is why he grew up primarily with wild boars. Remarkably, Doma had an opportunity to kill Inosuke but chose not to do so.
