The anime titled “Demon Slayer,” or Kimetsu no Yaiba, is renowned as one of the top shonen series in history. Currently, its popularity is skyrocketing, largely due to the recent release of the film, “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 – Akaza’s Return.” This movie has become an instant sensation, outshining the records set by the previous Demon Slayer film, Mugen Train.

The astonishing achievement Demon Slayer has made is simply incredible, without a doubt. Since it’s gained an enormous fanbase, it’s natural for fans to be curious about where its name came from. After all, the title of a series plays a significant role in attracting new readers and viewers.

In English, the anime “Demon Slayer” doesn’t directly translate its Japanese title, which would be something like “Demon Destroying Sword.” Interestingly, the creator initially intended a different title for the series, but ended up going with Kimetsu no Yaiba instead.

Kimetsu, meaning “perish” or “destroy.” This is the name that was ultimately chosen.

Kimetsu no Yaiba” became the chosen title. For ‘yaiba’, they opted for a term that specifically refers to a Japanese sword rather than any ordinary blade.
