5 Tanjiro And Nezuko Vs. Rui

The Importance Of Family

Demon Slayer Battles That Should Have Been Impossible
  • Episodes: 37- 42

In his very first interaction with a demon from the Twelve Moon group, Tanjiro’s determination shines through, proving unwavering even when confronted by an obstacle he has never before encountered. Cornered and fearing for Nezuko’s safety against a sadistic individual who considers them enemies, Tanjiro recalls the Hinokami Kagura dance and the Hanafuda earrings that have been traditionally inherited in their family lineage.

In this new breathing technique, the power was significantly greater than his previous water-based breath, causing Rui to tremble with fear. To help Tanjiro combat this unprecedented level of evil, Nezuko was forced to activate her Blood Demon Art ability.

4 Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, And Mitsuri Vs. Hantengu

A Decisive Battle In The War Against Demons

Demon Slayer Battles That Should Have Been Impossible
  • Episodes: 47 – 55

The secretive Blacksmith Village was the scene of this conflict, leaving many puzzled about how Hantengu and Gyokko found its whereabouts. Their intention was to attack the village, as it was the source of the Nichirin Swords used by Demon Slayers, thus significantly weakening them in their fights against demons. Remarkably, there were a few Demon Slayers present, and they quickly sprang into action when peril approached.

In the heat of the showdown against Hantengu, I found myself in a pickle. For the majority of the fight, I was left guessing which one of those pesky clones was the real deal, and even when I managed to lock onto one, his armor-like hide made him as tough as tempered steel. In the end, he slipped through my grasp yet again, prompting me to instinctively summon my Demon Slayer mark. It guided me back to him, and I channeled its hidden might to vanquish him once and for all.

3 Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, And Tengen Vs. Daki and Gyutaro

An Encounter With An Upper Moon Demon

Demon Slayer Battles That Should Have Been Impossible
  • Episodes: 37 – 43

Beyond being nearly unwinnable, this battle arose due to Tanjiro and his companions insisting that Tengen not bring the female Demon Slayers along on his mission. Instead, they chose to go in their place. To carry out their investigation into the Upper Moon pair who had claimed the red-light district as their territory, they disguised themselves as women and were assigned to brothels.

As a longtime fan of the Demon Slayer series, I’ve seen many fierce battles and powerful characters, but none quite like the one between Tengen and Gyutaro. Having grown up watching the show, I can attest to the grueling challenges that both characters faced in this epic confrontation.

2 Kanao And Inosuke Vs. Doma

The Price Of Success

Demon Slayer Battles That Should Have Been Impossible
  • Chapters: 157 – 162

Previously, Doma, also known as Upper Moon Two, had vanquished and absorbed Shinobu, the insect Hashira. But this wasn’t a random act; it was part of a strategy conceived by Shinobu herself along with Kanao. They knew they couldn’t stand against Doma in direct combat, so they devised a plan instead. In the ensuing fight, Kanao and Inosuke did their utmost to keep pace with Doma, but in the end, Upper Moon’s speed proved too great for their swords to match.

During the height of the fight, Doma seemed unstoppable against the Demon Slayers. But just as it appeared he had the upper hand, his face started to dissolve – a consequence of the Wisteria poison Shinobu had ingested earlier in the battle. In the chaos that ensued, Kanao, with Inosuke’s aid, managed to behead the Upper Moon Two Demon.

1 Tanjiro And Giyu Vs. Akaza

A Clash Of Ideals

Demon Slayer Battles That Should Have Been Impossible
  • Chapters: 146 – 156

In this particular fight, there was a profound personal touch unlike other battles in the series. Driven by his longing to avenge the Flame Hashira, whom he deeply respected, and recalling their past encounter where Tanjiro had taunted him as he retreated towards the rising sun, this battle took place. It was also a collision of beliefs, as Akaza advocated for the elimination of the weak from existence, while Tanjiro felt it was the duty of the strong to support and uplift the weak.

Tanjiro even manages to incapacitate Akaza due to his Demon Slayer mark and the abilities that come with it, but it did not mean anything, as Akaza’s headless body fought on while trying to regenerate a new head. He was able to overpower the two Demon Slayers and only came to a halt when the memories of his past came rushing, prompting him to remember his loved ones and commit suicide due to the atrocities he had committed with the mementos they left him.
