As a storyteller who’s had the privilege to weave tales through the rich tapestry of human emotions, I must say that the romantic entanglements in Demon Slayer are nothing short of captivating. Each love story, unique in its own right, paints a vivid picture of resilience, sacrifice, and the undying bond between two souls.

The acclaimed anime “Demon Slayer” is renowned for its captivating storyline, with Ufotable’s exceptional animation elevating the action sequences to unprecedented levels. This studio has created one of the finest adaptations of any IP in anime history, and the outstanding animation quality in this series highlights why viewers are hooked on Tanjiro’s journey as he learns Sun Breathing and fights against the horde of demons that threaten humanity.

In Demon Slayer, its characters have become well-known and beloved, with many fans imagining romantic relationships between certain pairs due to the strong bonds they’ve witnessed. Fans who hoped for these characters to find happiness after their numerous life-or-death battles will be pleased to know that most of the relationships in the series are resolved by the end, following the final battle against Muzan. This provides a satisfying conclusion for fans who wanted these beloved Demon Slayer characters to have the happy endings they deserved.

5 Tanjiro Kamado & Kanao Tsuyuri

The Seeds Of The Romance Are Sowed From Their First Meeting

  • Fate: Started a family, with Kanata Kamado and Sumihiko Kamado being their descendants

Fans are eagerly anticipating the deepening of the bond between Tanjiro and Kanao, a connection that became evident when Tanjiro showed kindness by not splashing tea on her while recovering, despite their differences in decision-making. This moment sparked a conversation where Tanjiro gently encouraged Kanao to voice her feelings more often and take charge of situations when needed.

Kanao is deeply touched by Tanjiro’s kindness, and it clearly impacts her since then. She cries tears of happiness when he awakens after their fight in the Entertainment District, overjoyed to discover that he not only survived but also protected her during a one-sided battle against Muzan. Later in the story, when Tanjiro transforms into a demon at its conclusion, Kanao courageously puts her own sight at risk by employing her most potent ability, Flower Breathing’s Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye, to administer a cure and restore him to his human form. After Muzan is defeated, Kanao establishes a life with Tanjiro and eventually starts a family, their offspring appearing at the series’ end.

4 Zenitsu Agatsuma & Nezuko Kamado

Zenitsu’s Obsession Eventually Pays Off

  • Fate: Started a family, with Toko Agatsuma and Yoshiteru Agatsuma being their descendants

As a gamer, I can’t deny that Zenitsu is an oddball, occasionally flipping a switch from a sobbing mess into a capable demon slayer who tackles the toughest enemies effortlessly without breaking a sweat. Now, his fixation on Tanjiro’s sister might come off as borderline unsettling at times, but his unwavering attraction to her, even given her demonic existence, is a testament to Zenitsu’s pure-hearted nature.

In the anime, Nezuko’s character is a demon and thus unable to reciprocate her feelings towards the user of Thunder Breathing. This leaves fans guessing about her genuine emotions. However, there are subtle hints scattered throughout the story, like when she shows delight in Zenitsu’s tales during their journeys. After she transforms back into a human, Nezuko recalls the moment Zenitsu gifted her flowers, eventually choosing to marry him as the series concluded.

3 Tengen Uzui, Suma, Makio, & Hinatsuru

A Polygamous Relationship Where All Parties Are Happy

  • Fate: Lived out the rest of their days in happiness

In simpler terms, it might be challenging for those who think love should be exclusive to one person to accept polygamy. Yet, observing Tengen’s consistent display of love towards his three wives, who return the same affection, demonstrates that this setup can function effectively, despite its complexities. He repeatedly risks himself in the Entertainment District arc to save his wives from Daki’s harm.

Following a devastating battle that left them severely wounded, Suma, Makio, and Hinatsuru believed their darkest hour had arrived and were overcome with deep sorrow. Just when it seemed all hope was lost, Nezuko miraculously intervened, extracting the poison from Tengen’s system. Consequently, the quartet could finally experience a joyous conclusion after enduring countless ordeals at the hands of demons throughout their journey.

2 Obanai Iguro & Mitsuri Kanroji

The Two Confess Their Love In A Tragic Moment

  • Fate: Died in each other’s arms after confessing their feelings

In the brutal world of Demon Slayer, not all love stories have a fairy-tale ending, as you might assume given the constant threat of demonic beasts yearning for human flesh. I, Obanai, the Serpent Hashira, am usually as stoic and emotionless as they come. But, there’s this peculiar moment when I chat with Mitsuri about something, and Tanjiro catches a whiff of what seems like jealousy wafting from me. Now, it appears that these feelings might be one-sided on my part, but any avid manga reader knows the truth behind them.

Mitsuri fully recognized Obanai’s affectionate gazes and ended up returning those feelings. However, fate had other plans for them as both Hashira sustained fatal wounds during the final fight. After revealing their deep emotions towards each other, they passed away together in one of the series’ most poignant scenes.

1 Inosuke Hashibira & Aoi Kanzaki

Aoi Takes Care Of Him So Much That They Eventually Get Together

  • Fate: Started a family with Aoba Hashibira being their descendant

Among all the pairs in Demon Slayer, the relationship between Inosuke and Aoi is the most unexpected. Known for his headstrong and aggressive nature, it seems that Inosuke’s behavior might be what attracted Aoi to him. Just like Inosuke, Aoi has a tendency to get easily angered, which makes them both quite similar in this regard.

Although their overt affection may not be obvious, it becomes evident that repeatedly caring for Inosuke’s wounds fostered a bond between them. Over time, this bond deepened into romantic feelings, and they eventually decide to marry and start a family by the series finale once the demon threat has been permanently vanquished.
